Alot of engine noise in my CB while driving !

Alot of engine noise in my CB while driving !

im gounded to the fire wall on a good solid connecion, and the powe is directly from the battery.. i get all kinds of damn noise when i acclerate sp when im on the interstate. any ideas ?

am i more likely getting noise from the power leads, or from the coax

I had the same problem. Added a Noise filter inline with the power wire from the battery. Problem solved

It's noise generated from the power leads and picked up by the antenna. Like Michael said, hit up Radio Shack and get a "noise suppressor" kit. It sits in the power line and should clear things up.

I run an in-line filter on mine as well, but I also ran the power *and* ground wires back from the battery. Wires are twisted together as they run. This helps to minimize any ground loops and keep noise out of both leads. With power from the battery and ground at the firewall, your radio is picking up all the electrical noise from everything in between the two connections. Essentially you have a loop antenna wrapped around the engine.
