What subs is good?

Im running two 12" jbls in my truck right now, got them real cheap for about 200$ for two. They sound really good considering my my amp is a POS. jbls are really good and you can find them pretty easily at any shop.

I used to compete systems professionally and I had the best luck with some Image Dynamics IDQ 12" DVC's. at one point, I had 6 subs in the back of a 93 Probe GTS and at a competition in Libertyville IL they were hitting so hard the back window blew out.
They are a little pricy, but well worth the money in my opinion.

Polk audio sound good to me. I have the DX 12's that were bought in 2002. Thease have been to hell and back. They were so tight when they were brand new they had to be "broke in" They are not a kicker dvc or a ballsed out JL that make monsterous bass but they sound nice and accurate and crisp sound with the right amp+set correctly. Most of polk products now are not what they used to be IMO. I guess you can call me old school.

After reading what I wrote, I guess I made it sound a whole lot more dramatic than it really was. The window did not "blow out" as in flew across the parking lot. what I meant by blow out was that the glass cracked, then partially shattered and a some of the loose pieces of glass ended up on the ground around the rear of the car. I have some pics of it around here somewhere and I'll see if I can dig them up.

Good subs - Image Dynamics makes great stuff, as does Focal, CTD, MBQuart, Boston Acoustic, Digital Desigs, Adire Audio, and the list continues on and on...
...let your ears be the judge.
Oh and the install and the usage dictates 90% of what you hear, not the product. The best products are the easiest to make sound good, and far far easier to make sound great.

Yes I believe your window broke, but it did not do so from bass, that I can garuntee you. Allow me to explain:
I was making legal 160s on the dash on the old audiocontrol at 42 cycles, with 9kW rms on 2 15s from the cargo area, rear and front windows flexing 3" and that violence couldnt even break any of the windows. That violence wasnt powerful enough to expand a break in the windsheild when a stone put a nice spiderweb in the windsheild... And I was quiet compared to those in my class and the entire Super Street division of dB Drag Racing. Most of the loudest vehicles in the world, capable of well over 165db legal on the new termlab (175+ on the old audiocontrol) can not take out any of their glass. And believe me they are far far far nastier than your or my vehicle. The only vehicle that I have ever known to be able to consistantly take out a windshield (or any pane of glass for that matter) is Allan Riley's van....needless to say he dominated dB Drag Super Street 8+, then later Super Street 5+
What happened was the rear glass was installed improperly and due to the heat of the day, the car's panels expanded stressing the glass and eventually breaking it. It would have happened whether or not you had a system in it....

as far as on topic, rockford fosgate is cool with me. polks are awesome too though. all depends on what your playin, what vehicle you've got, etc etc etc.
