Subwoofer questions

I just bought a 1990 4Runner and I'm completely new to car audio and was wondering:

Wheres a good place for 2 subs? I was thinking in the back where there are compartments on each side, anyone know how to make a custom enclosure to house them? And does anyone know how to install them to make them not rattle? Also, would I be able to feel them all the way back there?(not looking to spend a whole lot of money for really good ones)

I was also thinking about putting them under the front seats, but don't want to spend the money for the special made ones so I was wondering if I could build my own housing for them, and also if I'll feel them more than anywhere else?

What do you guys think would be best? Like I said I have no idea what I'm doing but I did notice what looked to be aftermarket speaker wires on the passenger side going under the carpet, so maybe someone had some but took them out, and I could use those for the new ones?
Thanks

Cheap way for good audio is kicker or MB quart, cheap for decent audio is pioneer or kenwood subs

Amazon.com u can find two good 10'' or 12'' subs at a good price, if u go for cheap prices just always look for good reviews

a subwoofer wont fit under your seats, despite any modifcations you make. I have a full sound system in my 92 4runner. I have 2 alpine Type Rs between the two wheel wells in the cargo area, both of my amps are under each seat as well. if you have any questions lemme know.

Wow old thread but thanks for the replies guys.

Mak- Do I need two amps? shouldn't one two channel amp work for both subs?

Jeffy- Sorry I already have a buddy with a couple spares he's willing to sell me cheap.

Elton- Thanks for the pics, that's exactly what I'm looking for, sorry for not replying earlier, forgot about this thread haha.

Wheelin- Thanks, I've been thinking about MB Quart subs from Amazon for a while now.

MB 15"s seem pretty nice, but my friend says 15"s don't sound as good as smaller subs like 10"s, is this true? He says different sizes are good for different kind of music.

crimson yota you will need a amp if you get a sub and the 15's will be way louder than the 10's but the 10's will prolly sound cleaner and you will prolly be able to hear the lyrics better.

You only need 2 amps if you're planning to amp both your speakers and subwoofers. 1 2 channel amp is only required for the subwoofers.

as far as size of the subwoofer goes. in this case, size doesn't matter. my friend's 15s do not sound as good as my 12s. sound is based solely off amperage/watts. he is set up with 2 offbrand 15s and only a 450 watt amp. I have 2 type Rs with a 1000w kenwood amp...
