Stock Looking After Market HU

i am looking into getting a new HU to replace the one which was stolen last week.

i only have a few criteria first i want it to look as stock as possible to blend into the dash and so it doesn't attract attention.
second it must have an aux input so i can connect my ipod with out using a fm transmitter.

i was looking at the clarion dxz 645mp because it has an aux input and the display color could be changed to match the interior amber lights. it looks like a good quality deck with in my price range of 200 - 300 (i can get it for 209.00 at etronics) does anyone have any comments on this deck or any other suggestions on which deck to get.

thanks

A lot of people are buying the Scion factory HU for their 4runners. They are supposed to sound pretty good and will keep the stock look.

The Nakamichi head units meet your criteria. they are a little more expensive, but very, very nice and stock looking.

I would highly recommend Eclipse head-units. I have been selling them for 4 years now and they are the best thing I have ever dealt with. I also sell Clarion, Sony and Pioneer head-units. Eclipse offers a 3 year warranty if their unit is installed by an authorized dealer, their head units also come standard with the 1 year theft replacement. If your unit is stolen within 1 year after purchase, they will give you a brand new unit. They have the best security feauture out there called ESN. What you do is, you take any cd, something you don't listen to alot and don't mind putting away, and you program that disc into the unit, so if the unit is stolen(or you change your battery), the unit locks up and must have that "key cd". Most theives see the Eclipse radio and if they know anything about car audio, they pass up Eclipse units. I went to an Eclipse training seminar last year and they did a survey with insurance companies and their brand is 4 times less likely to be stolen than any other brand. I have one in all of my vehicles that I drive, everyone where I work has one, they are awesome units! I would recommend the CD3414-or the CD3424, both look very simple and clean are easy to operate and do MP3.

Go to www.eclipse-web.com check them out and see what you think. Don't plan on going online and getting their stuff dirt cheap either, they are very strict about their territorial restrictions on who sells their products!

Let me be the first to say, SMART MAN!
I hate the bling bling decks with all the flashing lights and pictures yadda yadda.

screw that... get an aftermarket head.

then from a junkyard, get an OEM head and rip the front faceplate off. then using some glue and small bits of plastic, make it so that that faceplate can attach to the new head like it's oem...

Hey Scarface, has eclipse picked up any of the satelite radio providers yet? If so, are they going with XM or Sirius?

From what my rep has told me, they are gonna go Sirius, nothing solid yet, it has been taking them forever to come up with something, I don't know why it's taking so long.

Oh sweet! If they go Sirius, then I am there for sure! I have had Eclipse speakers (have a 12" sub in my 4Runner) and their stuff rocks.

It seems like most of the companies are going Sirius, XM has Sony, Pioneer and Alpine (the big 3), but Sirius has JVC, Blauplankt (SP?), Kenwood, Clarion, and some others..
