Kick Panel Pods

Are there any kick panel speaker pods out there that are good? When I say good I mean absolutely solid.

Im doing a system in my rig (have 90% of it sitting under my bed), and I dont want to open up the doors (Im NOT light handed, everythign I touch that is delicate, or has delicate parts, WILL break).

Im OK with fiberglass work. Ill do it if at all needed, but want to avoid it in this case.

The speakers I plan on putting down there are Diamond AUdio M661 6.5" COmponents

ANy help?

PS: Here are my system specs:

Alpine CDA-9835 CD/MP3/WMA Receiver
Diamond Audio D5600.4 4-Channel Amplifier
Diamond Audio D5600.1 Mono Amplifier
Diamond Audio M661 6.5” Component Speaker Set (2 Sets)
Diamond Audio M6mkII12D2 12” Subwoofer
Xstatic MegaCap 150 50 Farad Capacitor
Optima Yellow Top Deep Cycle Battery
ALL Streetwires Wiring

WHat I plan on doing the rear speakers is intergrating them into the subwoofer box, behind the rear seat. THe box will have the subwoofer firing up/back at a 30* angle from verticle, it will have an amp mount facign down/back at a 30* angle from verticle, and the rear speakers at the top firing straight up (like the rear deck of sedans)

Well...I'm not sure you'd call the custom kick panels I have "solid" but they are pretty stout, you'd have to do a lot to break em.

They are made by Q-Logic and I love em! Lemme know if you have any questions.

Im not worried about them breakage, Im worried about the flex. The speakers are rated for 150W per channel (a midbass, tweeter, Xover set), and I plan on puting them to the limits.

The flex isn't too bad at all...mine are rated at like 175W or something. I think they're rated at 400W for peak...I wouldn't be too worried about the flex!

They are made of a plastic/fiberglass composite and yes you can add fiberglass to the inside of them.

Gangus-

I have a pair of kick panels for the fronts. They will hold a pair of 5.25s easily or a pair of 6.5s with some minor trimming. They appear to be fiberglass and/or plastic.

Here's a picture:

These usually retail for $200/pair. Make me an offer I can't refuse!

Or, let's trade for a 4 channel amp.

Seriously, though. They're just taking up space.

Are those designed to go inside of a plastic panel or just sit there like that? Cause that looks like frame to go inside of somethin that would cover it up...maybe?

if you're looking for it to be sturdy, you can get q-forms and fiberglass the back of them to add strength/weight, but it might be a little hard to get the fiberglass to stick well. make sure you rough it up really good.

q-forms tend to stick out really far though, and I have a tendency to accidently kick my roommate's q-forms. My kickpanels still get kicked by the passenger, but not as often since they don't stick out as far. And they're made from MDF and fiberglass so they can withstand the kicking. The speaker grills aren't so lucky though, as I have a small dent in passenger-side tweeter grill. Nothing really noticeable though.

DuB.... that is one of the cleanest, sexiest ICE jobs I've ever seen. Much props.
I have dreamt about putting a PA in my truck...but I have too many idiot friends. hahah.
Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks for the kind words Mark My friends eventually stopped messing w/ the PA when they got used to it. It still comes out occasionally after we leave clubs or whatnot and they want to "holla" at people. lol.
