so do you ever have to pay for the equipment?

what all equipment do you need for a car set-up, just the head unit (audiovox SIR-PNP2) and the wiring kit (SIR-CKI), (and all of its free?)

and how much is 1 year subscription?

The one year subscription is $149. the head unit and wiring kit are free. I also ordered the home kit for it so my total was just over $200.
You can use a credit card to order. all the info is there on the site.

I just ordered it. Been looking for awhile, but the "plug-n-play" Sirrus models were all kind of bulky/cheesy looking before this one. I finally find a decent sized one and its FREE!

Thanks for posting this!

Yeah, I've had mine since 12/2, ordered on 11/22. Then I ordered a different mount for the truck so I just got that and will now go about installing it in a more secure fashion. Sitting in front of my transfercase shifter isnt really the most secure spot.

Any Ideas for wiring power directly to unit and not use the cigarette plug?
I was told the power plug size is "H", at radio shack. Then what just wire that to a power source?

You missed a good run this last weekend in Anza Borrego, maybe we should hit up Los Coyotes Rez again, that was fun last time.

Yes - I received both of mine. Had them for atleast 2 weeks now.

Rob - To hard wire it, just splice it in to a 12V source. I did mine about a year ago ( I already had the PNP1) and I spliced mine into the back of the cigarette lighter - you can also use the 12V source from the clock. I actually did a custom mount where I hand bent some "L" brackets and it is mounted directly in front of the ashtray, behind the transfer case shifter. Only thing is, I can't open my ashtray, but I don't need to anyway. I drilled a hole in the back of the "cubby Hole" and ran my power and antenna wires through it.

Damn.... I ordered mine on 11/23 and haven't gotten it yet. Did you guys get any kind of shipping notice or tracking number? I didn't. When I log on to Sirius it shows I have an order.

Rob - Yeah I was looking at the write-ups/ pics. Looked like fun. I probably won't be able to get out on the trails until next month.

Whew!.....just called Sirius and they said it was out for delivery today so I'm just waiting for Mr Brown to stop by.

I'm curious did everyone get the same hardware on this deal? I got the PNP model from Xact.

Also, All I need to do is call them to activate the unit right?

Yes, get everything installed and then give them a call. Make sure that they don't put you on the "family restricted" channels. If they do that, then it blocks some channels due to language.

Edit: I just remembered, if you activate it online, its free. If you call its $5

When you get your box of equipment, there will be some paperwork. There will be a number for you to call to get it activated. You have already paid for the activation, so you won't get charged again. Don't activate it online - use the number they provide.
