Infinity kappa perfects

I just ordered 2 sets of Kappa perfect components for the 4runner and was just seeing what you guys think about them. I hope to have them installed by friday evening. I'll keep everyone posted on how they sound.

Infinitys are great for the money I used to have a set of kappa coponents. The perfects were to bright for me. But some people dig that

i've got the reference series comps and i think they sound pretty good. the perfects are outstanding though; a little bright for my taste, but that's all up to personal preference.

you've ordered two sets of comps? are you putting a set in the back? many people dont like to put tweeters in the back b/c it messes up the imaging, pulls the stage out from in front of you, which is where you want it to be - like a concert. have you considered just running a good set of midbass speakers in the back? or use those 6.5's with your second set of perfects and band-limit the signal going to them with some simple homemade bandpass crossovers? just some ideas.

here's a good article on rear fill: http://www.wickedcases.com/caraudio/rearfill.html

I plan on installing the rear tweets right above the woofer so hopefully it wont take away too much. I'll be running 6.5 up front and 5.25s in the rear.

Yea i love the Kappa perfects 6.1 in the front door. The kappa coax. in the rear are ok but will be replaced with the 5.1 perfects soon enough.

Wink

hey all of you "infinity" aficianados, have you heard of the "kappa perfect 12D VQ subwoofer"??
the one w/interchangeable magnet inserts that allow you to change the amount of magnetic force applied to the voice coil so that you can sculpt the sound to meet your installation requirements??

just a little heads up to help out in the "highs" department, in case you did'nt know.

That's what I did when I installed my rear components. I haven't noticed any pull of the soundstage to the rear.

Only bit of heartache was making sure the holes were measured properly when cutting the door panels. It worked out but I sweated while I did it.
