Anyone compete?

Just wondering if anyone competes with their stereo system?

Been doing it locally for somewhere near 12 years. We have the local dealer shows, the odd IASCA show and a few of the Db Drags. Went to the Western Canada Slam Jam finals back in 98 and placd 14th in Canada for our class.

Havent really been that hardcore into it the last few years.

Started out with a Blade Grenade G64 and 2 JL Audio 10w1`s. That got jacked.
Then went with Phoenix gold ZX 200amp and an XVR passive Xover running into a bandpassed XS 12 sub.

Ended up buying 3 more of the subwoofers and 2 Phoenix ZX 350 amps.
Soon upped that to 8 subs and 2 more ZX 350`s.

I sold one sub, still have 7 of them and traded off 2 of the 350`s for a PG ZPA0.5 but that didnt work out to well and sold the amp.

So as of now it is 4 subs and 2 of the ZX 350`s.

Last year we decided to get off the porch and take a bite out of the big dogs. My cousin runs a stereo shop and got me a Mmats Juggernaut 15 and the 1400.5 Mmats amp.

Both are still sitting here gathering dust. Which is pissin me off. Cant afford to install or build a box for the sub .

Had an accident at home and lost part of my foot, so i lost my job etc etc. Cant wait untill things get better so i can get it all installed and get competing again.

What are the rest of you running for equipment?

If your bored , drop by www.phoenixgold.com . I been moderating the site for quite a few yrs now. Also hang out on www.canadiancaraudio.com

I hit as many shows as I can. Kinda have to travel alot since I'm in P.G. and usually still have to work the next day. The average travelling is 8 hours one way. You got it good Ty. Everything seems to hub from your locale.

I'll be seeing you again a few times this year but probably won't have many more photo ops with both our trucks side by side. Raised a few eyebrows at Andres last year eh?

I'll be keeping the truck SQ and building my 02 Civic for SPL. It has more potential and I want to beat Rob V.O. just once. I'll be happy if I ever can.

Well , if I get enough notice you can bunk on the couch if need be. Beating Rob would be great. Love to see that go down. The way things are going, looks like I will be running the 4 12`s again this year.

Cant afford to do the Jugg or rebuild the PG boxes, those poor sealed boxes have been rattled apart over the 10years running the same setup.

Keep your eyes open for any shop that can build a Toy alt up. Anything is better than the damn 60amp jobbie in there now. I think its still packed full of mud

Not really sure if I am going to get competition active this year or not. Might be out at the race track if all goes well this year.

Yea, I did a competition a while back and hit 135 db with two W0 10" subs. Got 4th (dang it). I have since soundproofed and upgraded my subs and amp good for 139 db but I havn't compeeted with it. The comps are kindof fun.

I run a 220 amp Iraggi alternator in my 2001 Doublecab. I've had it about 2 years now, and it still runs strong. I'm not sure how it'll hold up in mud though .

There is also a shop here in Houston that can either rebuild your alternator or custom build one for you. A rebuilt one would go from about 60amps to 180 amps roughly. If you wanted to go that route, I'd probably find a junker and ship it to them. Once they rebuild it, keep the factory one as a backup

Been competing for 3 years and been invited to world finals 2 years consecutively. This last year I couldnt attend due to financial reasons...

4 Zapco 9.0's
4 Kicker L7 12s

New TermLab pressure sensor has me doing a 151.6 legal
Old TermLab has me doing a 156-158 legal
New AC pressure sensor has me at a 152 and change
New AC hydrophone has me at a 154 legal
Old AC hydrophone also has me at a 156-158 legal.

THE most consistant meter is the New TermLab...

I compete locally on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, all the way over to Mobile, AL, and New Orleans, LA...North to Meridian, MS...running Alpine CDA-9835 Head Unit, Ipod Interface, 4g Apple Ipod 20gig, JBL BP600.1, JBL BP75.2 Amplifiers, 3 TREO 12" Subs vented in the extended cab of the truck, Infinity reference coaxial highs for now...shop is almost done with my fiberglass door panel sections that contain two Infinity Reference 6.5 component sets in each door for a total of two tweets and two 6.5s in each door, once those are in the small JBL 75.2 will be swapped out for a TREO TSX75.2 amplifier (brand new on the market), and the JBL BP600.1 will be swapped out for the TREO SSX750.1. The current subs at the TREO TSi 12.4, but once the new amps are in they will be swapped for TSX level subs. Also in dash are two Audiocontrol processors - Audiocontrol 4.1, and Audiocontrol EPIC-160... current setup in Amateur 301-600 class is hitting 149.1db legal, box is tuned to ~35hz
