'99 Tacoma factory cd/tape deck?

I'm looking for an OEM AM/FM/cassette/CD for a '99 Tacoma. Anyone know where online I could find part numbers and photos, and purchase one? I've called the dealer, but they were not very helpful. I don't really want to rig one from a Camry or something like that. I'd like to find the one that was intended for my vehicle.

For the cost why? They are going to charge you an arm and a leg. A non-factory radio is going to cost you less and look just a good if not better. Just a suggestion.

This guy is selling his factory HU and cd player from his 99 4runner. Or you can check ebay.

Yotasocko,

For about $130 (all inclusive w/ shipping), I bought a Clarion DXZ545MP with a Metra harness kit. I bought the HU on ebay for $89.95 + $20.00 shipping and the harness was whatever the remainder.

The mp3 playing capability is worth every single penny. Something you can't get w/ the stock toyota units.

Give it a thought!

Bob

Disappointed with that option

DavidA & Bob,

I bought an aftermarket CD player (Alpine), but have been dissatisfied with it. It sticks out further than the factory radio, and looks out of place on my dash. It's also not intuitive. That's why I want to go back to factory. It will look appropriate, and I liked the way my factory Toyota tape player worked. I just want both tape and CD.

LBC,

Thanks, but I'm looking for the tape/CD combo, not separate units. I like the way it looks better. I know that's not the general priority for people looking for car audio, but it's important to me.

I've checked eBay, but I don't know which Toyota units will work in my vehicle. That's one of the main reasons I've posted here. Any ideas on what unit will fit properly in my truck, and be compatible?

Similar decks are going for $50-$100 on eBay, but I really don't know what the factory one is worth, since I haven't yet found one. Yes, I do still have the Alpine, and will be selling it if/when I find the OEM one I'm looking for. It's a CDE-7870. What's the faceplate number on your deck?
