8ga or 12ga to the sub???
Ok, someone please help or offer an opinion, I've been hammering Bumpin'Yota on aim like crazy and feel I should give him a break (Thanks again for everything). Ok I've got 4ga power and ground lines to my Rockford Fosgate P2002 amp. It's only powering a single Punch 10" sub (P110S4) in a Qlogic truck enclosure type 1 box. I'm currently running 12ga wires from the amp to the sub but have some 8ga just laying here. I've bridged the channels to the sub and was wondering if there would be any audible difference between to different size wires? Would changing the speaker wire be worth it?

Dont run the 8 gauge thats a waste. You system wont benefet to much from it. I think Im even using 12 gauge for my setup. You should make sure the speaker wire conection from the amp to the sub and DVC is all the same gauge

Ok, that's what I thought. I've got 12ga running from the amp to the sub box and the connector on the enclosure to the sub is also 12ga. So this should be just fine it sounds like.

I run 8ga power wire for my speaker wire, but then again each one of my amps produces 1800 real time power into the subs at 47hz... 2200watts rms on each.
If your options are to buy 12ga or use 8ga I say use the 8ga. Less money out of pocket
