Yotatech needs a street truck section
#21
I like the idea of a street section, obviously!
I registered a while back and check the site often. There is a lot of good "TECH" items on here, thanks why I came.
I've learned to browse threw the threads and find what I need. When I did sign on, I did know that is was for basically for 4X4,
hence the theme...The off-road adventure begins here!!
You guys can decide whether you should have one, I'm content the ways it is!!

I think yotatech needs a dedicated section for "street trucks" u know...the ones that will never see off road...call me an ass if you like....
I'm getting sick of wading through all the BS when Im trying to edumicate myself with OFF ROAD TECH
I feel yotatech has strayed away from its offroad roots....dont know if this is to increase membership or what but it can be frustrating sometimes.
Anyone remember when the "Off Road Adventure Begins Here"?
anyone else feel the same?
RANT OFF

PS, Im a newbie so my thoughts probably dont mean much around here compared to the veterans....
Ass.

btw, can you tell me how to put my Tacoma into four-wheel drive?
id like to get my 24's dirty for a show.

Just to throw my opinion in the hat...
I'm for it. As long as it can stay civil, I'm down. I used to ride low back in the day, and although I have since seen the light...I can still dig it.
Besides, FoSheezy's taken enough grief. He can finally have a section to rule!

I vote no.
In my opinion, I think we should focus the majority of our efforts on weeding out the useless posts/threads that we all see everyday, minimize the drama going on and try our best to bring YotaTech back to its roots...with that being said, YotaTech is a 4x4 Toyota Forum.
Part of what makes me hesitant towards adding a street forum (I think calling it the "Mall Crawler" section was brilliant Molly!) is I see a big potential for more drama and personal attacks. I see a 4x4 vs. Street bashing fest going on.
Not that I don't think we are all mature enough to be civil...but I don't think we are all mature enough to be civil.
That's just my $.02 and by no means does me being a moderator effect how much my opinion matters.

Fink

I think it would actually lead to less bashing if there was a section for the group that wants to lean towards the street tuner end of the hobby.
Personally I'd like to see some more of that here some of the mods/paint jobs those guys do are just wild annd might inspire the 4x4 members.
like maybe a rear hatch modified with power lifters off a chrysler minivan for example.
also I've seen some pics in a few tuner mags about modify-ing the rigs for handicap access which is something no-one here has really looked at yet so far as I know...
Yes there might be some good natured ribbing when some hard core 4wd-er posts about some bling he wants to do/has done but it would all be in good fun I think.
Overall I think there would be less hate simply because those who are not interested in "it" would'nt have to look at "it" unless they wanted to.
