Smile Market Place thread deletion question...I want to help

I want to delete my old for sale threads to help clean-up.

Is there a way for a forum member to delete their own threads?

Thank you for any help provided.

It would be a plus in the Marketplace. I believe it could also save mods/admins a lot of time.

I believe Contributing Members have the ability to do whats called a "Soft Delete."

A "Soft Delete" leaves a copy of the post there for the OP to see as well as the Mods.
To do it, click "edit" then click "go advanced" and there should be a deletion option at the top of the menu.

We would definitely appreciate you all to go through your own For Sale/Item Wanted threads and help clean them up if they are erroneous.

I spent the good part of two hours going through and closing threads from back in 2006 and 2007.

Thanks again,

Fink

No one except mods can delete their posts. Not even sponsoring members. That option was changed several years back when members started deleting their tech posts out of spite.

If you want, just PM me a list and I will delete them.

I will have to look to see if that can be done for just the classifieds section.
We had some in the past who started deleting their tech posts on purpose of drama llama style, and naturally that deletes others posts in their threads too.

I see that, nice work Chris.
I appreciate your help.

Like I said in another thread, if there is good tech info or anything you want to keep in the thread - just PM me or another Mod and we can close it.
That will prevent it from being resurrected by a nOOb but also leave it out there so it can be found via Search.
