Unadvertised secret abilities

Speaking of secret abilities - apparently snakes HATE WD40.
A buddy of mine used it to put a perimeter up around a campsite one time.
Snakes literally slithered up to it, started to cross and jumped right back over - pretty interesting.

wd-40 works good to remove roofing tar from tools, and i have used it to get road tar off a truck before.
starting fluid works good to remove glue that is left after removing decals.

dish soap in the shower after a long messy day of wrenching...really cuts the grease
Dry ice on sound deadening gunk - get it cold, then hit it with a hammer to break up the chunks.
And on the bug note, I've come face to face with no less than 2 black widows whil under my truck working....carb cleaner/brake cleaner FTW!

carb cleaner works for killing bees better than any bee spray i've used so far. also if you want to loosen a bolt. heat it first with a torch than drip wax from a candle onto the theads it works it's way into the threads and help it loosen up. though pb works just as good. also if your packing bearings heat them up with a torch then put the whole thing in grease and it will suck the grease into every nook and crany. also if your dog get sprayed by a skunk listerine works the best and gojo also works pretty well. the tomato paste, sauce, juice etc. didn't work at all. i've got more but can't think of them at the moment.

intake/TB cleaner or carb cleaner makes a great superglue solvent! discovered that after a superglue project gone wrong this week... had tons all over my fingers, paint thinner didn't work, methanol didn't work, saw the TB cleaner and BINGO! works like a charm after a few sprays...

use dental floss to debadge, easy fast and leaves no scratches or residue
carb cleaner is a cheap and easy way to locate vacuum leaks, let your truck idle and then spray small bursts of the carb cleaner in areas that are suspect of a leak, if the idle changes (engine revs a little) you have found the leak. That is my favorite old school trick that has saved me a lot of time and headachs over the years of wrenching.
