i love the look of this bed, the only thing i would like if it was like another foot or so longer. but thats just me. I dont think this has been asked yet but how much money do you have invested in the materials for the bed?

About $1200.00 all total. I just painted it again with an industrial enamel paint that cost about $150.00

Wow, stumbled across this looking for tube or flat bed designs. This has got to be the best looking and most well thought out design I have have ever seen. Nice job, know if you only sold these things I've got some fab skills, but hats off I guess I need to get back to practicing my fab skills before trying to build a masterpiece like that.

WOW! Thanks very much for the compliments.
I am about to take this thing on a 3 day wheeling/archery trip. I hope to get a few pics of it in the dirt.

This thread is my inspiration to build a flat bed. I'm drawing my design up in CAD right now over my Christmas break from school, and will hopefully get my laser cut parts soon after, weld them up powder coat and post some pics!

Well.... imitation being the sincerest form of flattery and all.... I am definitely borrowing the design approach for the headache rack, and the frame-as-an-air-tank idea for when I build my flatbed. Thank you so much for posting such an inspirational build.
