Same boat as you...

I posted yesterday trying to decide between T15 and T17, and wanting to modify some hoops to put on a T17. I don't like the bump outs on the T15, and I would prefer to have the middle hoop spread a bit more. Sounds similar to your place... I did a crappy Paint modification of JacksonPT's front end:

it's classy, sure is....

I stopped in to a local welding shop and showed my ideas. Really it's not all that far off the T15. Turns out not a whole lot of places have the jigs big enough and capable of bending more than 45 degree angles (i'm in the sticks). The estimate was around $175 to put those hoops on the way I wanted. Kicker is the powdercoating once it's done. Not sure what it would run to redo that, not many powdercoaters around but for the trouble I'll settle for the T15. Those Sonoran hoops like top notch, just not to my personal preference.

That welder sounds like fun, but it sounds like bending those big tubes is tough for the average guy. Still, I like the idea of modding the T17, it's a solid start to a custom bumper.

Agreed.

Do you have any straight on pics?

Edit: Nevermind, saw the other threads.
