steering box options

Toyota IFS boxes are nowhere to be found in salvage yards around where I live. They are also expensive when I goto larger city yards.

Anybody use gears off something else? I can snatch up 73-86 chevy 2wd boxes for $25-$50 all day, lots of fords, basically anything from the big 3 is easy to find here.

This is to be used on my 85 with a D60 front going in.

2WD Toy IFS boxes can be used, but they're not as strong.

I've heard of people using IH Scout boxes, do a Search.

LC boxes are another option.

You can use the 2wd but the sector shafts are smaller

You can also use FJ60 and 80 toy boxs for forward facing pitman arms. Another good box is a IH Scout 2 box.

FJ60 (1980? - 1989) or FJ80 (1990-1997) is a really good option. I could pick you up an IFS box from the salvage yard down the street and ship it to you. I think they get $75-$100 for one and shipping would probably be around $25 or so dollars.

FYI: that box is not an IFS box and is not what he wants. It's a push pull type box off an older truck.

you can always get a reman. box from trailgear, marlin, all-pro... It's more expensive, but mine is flawless.
