some bed fab work (why not?)

1 1/4" .090 wall square stock for the new rails.

welding it up.

and attached.

and to deal with the end of the bed i chose this.

now to weld it all solid and hit it with the flap disc for a smooth finish.

im gonna wait till i get the lights before i make the mounts for them, but they will probably be led's. as for the bumper im gonna get the bed back on the truck first so i can get proper measurements to work with.

Congrats to making a too-small truck bed smaller. LOL
Looks good though.
I want to see what you are going to do with the lowers. Does anyone have a source for those? Of course I need 2 inches above seam as well. Argh

the main reason for this is to have a little better side access to the bed once the truck is lifted. standing on the tire gets old after a while. and i like the look too. im gonna leave the panels below the seam off and make a high clearance bumper at about frame level.
oh and i checked out the toolbox link. nice work RBX! im gonna have to go another route than that though. ive already started on my rear shock tower and that would be a tight fit. the rear axle is being moved back 2" also.
