My winter rebuild (7MGTE overhaul)

Jeremy, let me know when you are ready, and I will come up there and give you a hand (if you need it). Looks like you have made some great progress this winter. cant wait to see that beast on the road again.

i have my fingers crossed that its all gonna work. I have enough helping hands close by that you dont need to come up. Putting it back in isnt grunt work, the hoist does all the heavy lifting. I just need another set of hands to coax it in place. I have my fingers crossed that there won't be any MAJOR problems. I just want it to be oil tight and run smooth.
Only hurdles left are fabbing up the intake/exhaust, some minor wiring and cooling hoses, and tuning the engine management.
If it runs well and the weather warms up a bit soon you might be getting a PM from me to come visit the coast for an afternoon though. Maybe bring some

You are welcome anytime! I'm always up for some

once you put the pulleys/belts and radiator fan it gets pretty tight despite the room that picture shows. I actually mount the radiator directly above the front crossmember of the frame. Normally radiators are mounted between the back of that part of the frame and the motor. To do so i had to use a significantly shorter radiator but it should still be ok since its more than twice as thick, made of aluminum, and doesnt have any wasted space like the stock one for auto-trans fluid cooling. Another downside however is my thin dual flex-a-lites will no longer work so ill be putting them up in the for-sale section soon. gonna have to do a single puller thats a bit thicker/more powerful so i can achieve ~ the same CFM.

That looks really sweet bud, sorry I haven't been able to offer up my services or make it over your way at all, this semseter is killing me, only two more to go though.
Can't wait to see her running again, this time w/o a large leak spewing from engine bay.

my wallet took another hit today. I ordered the wideband A/F setup and the electronic wastegate controller as well as an HKS blow-off valve and an oil pressure sensor. All told its another $1k towards to total bill. When those parts arrive I have everything i need to safely crank it up

pictures for those that like pictures
The Innovate “Standalone Gauge Kit” comes complete with the NEW! LC-1 Wideband Controller, NEW! XD-1 Programmable Digital Gauge, Bosch 5-wire Wideband 02 Sensor, Bung/Plug Kit, Software CD, and owners manual.
The LC-1 is a complete wideband controller built in to a sealed cable. It features the same award-winning patented digital measurement principal found in the LM-1, and includes digital input, output, and 2 programmable analog outputs.
The Innovate XD-1 dash-mountable Digital Gauge features programmable LED colors and remote control button to start and stop LM-1 log sessions or initiate calibration.

The Super AVC-R is the premium closed-loop electronic boost controller on the market. The AVC-R allows flexible control over virtually every aspect of boost control and adds new innovative functions such as injector pulse monitoring and gear specific boost control.
Some key functions include: RPM-based boost and solenoid duty cycle control, scramble boost, self learning mode, 2D ghost map trace mode, analog display mode, real time replay and peak hold data modes. The AVC-R utilizes an ultra-fast microprocessor and a high quality solenoid valve to control boost. The result is ultra-fast response and accurate, stable boost control.

i COULD put all the old stuff back on it right now but i want to wait and be safe. Knowing exactly what the oil pressure and A/F ratio are make me much less worried about damaging my now $3-4k motor.

oil pressure test comes tommorrow, new fuel lines getting ordered monday, intake and exhaust work maybe getting done next weekend. cross your fingers. . . . I am still shooting to have it driveable to Tellico but I won't be suprised if its not ready.

It will make it to the trails soon enough....

Looks awesome! You've got more room in front of the engine than I thought you would, especially since you kept the radiator support.
