Is there enough clearance to keep the jack on there when pivoted flat or will you need to remove it when trailer is in motion?

No, it will have to be taken off. I will either keep it inside the trailer or get another bracket and have it mounted some place else on the trailer while in use.

Sorry to ask and maybe sound dumb but why the tent cot set up? is there enough room for you and a girl and still be comfortable?? I am kinda working a trailer out and really am interested in the truck top tents were they just out of the price range or to heavy?? just a question.

No worries, the only reason I went with the tent-cot is because I had it. It's the double size tent-cot so it's about the size of a queen bed. There's plenty of room for two people.

I really want a real RTT (roof top tent) but can't justify the money right now. Using the tent-cot is a real challenge (PITA) and is becoming a lot more time consuming than I thought. It will work once it's all done, but if I knew then what I now now I would have sold it and put that money towards a real RTT. Too bad I built the entire trailer around it.

In all reality the main objectives of this trailer is to have all my camping gear in one spot, reduce packing / unpacking time, sleep up off the ground, and keep the gear inside the vehicle to a minimum. It should work pretty good for that. I really doubt I will be camping out of it for more than a couple days at a time, and that will most likely be in the same spot. I just need to keep telling myself that it's just a small camping trailer, not an expedition trailer. It's easy to get carried away!

i hear the getting carried away part. Those tents are not cheap but looking at over all value and versatility I think I am going to save up for one. My trailer is just getting started in the same way your did with just the frame and well it has a bed on it now but wont for very long. I am going more for like two week trips I have alot of peices saved like a few smaller solar panels and the batteries for that and 40 gallon water tank and gas tank. lots a bearing drawer slides and enough metal to start the project. I love the idea of lets go camping and be ready and packed for any amount of time in like 20 minutes with less gear in the runner. I got two kids and a gf so I need more space then a tent cott will provide and maybe a little more storage then your trailer. Though If I can make it look even close to the quality you have put into yours ill be stoked. You have done some great work on your truck and trailer go toyota magic lol. keep up the good work man I wanna see the whole project!!

Thanks! Go with the real RTT, it's worth it. You have the right idea, use what you have and spend the money on the tent. Good luck on the project!

I also skinned the floor of the slide out area. There will be no weight on the floor (it will be on the drawer slides), so I went with the lightest material I had.

And built the battery tray

Then I used some Duplicolor bedliner on the tailgate and installed the old LED tail lights out of the green 4Runner, and a licence plate light to keep the police happy. The pull handle is from a Ford Van, I still need to get latches to lock and hold the door tight.
