Making hard top into modular hard top

So I messed up my 1st gen runner and broke the topper, I found a good topper, but I was thinking of making my messed up topper modular, kinda like the new jeep ones.

I ran across this build, and like the idea of the full length top. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...cation-195216/

I want to do the same thing and make the sides and back pop off. Anyone done this, or anything similair?

My ultimate plan is to cut out the side windows and frame it in with aluminum to fit a single full-length Lexan window that is hinged on the top. This would allow the windows on both sides to be folded up onto the roof for wheeling and folded down/locked when security needed. In back, the factory glass window can be rolled up and down to open the back up.

4crawler, I like the lexan window idea, but I would like to be able to just store the parts in the truck. I know, lots of stuff, but I never have anything in the back so I dont care. If you get around to doing it let me know. Who knows maybe I will copy you .
As for the back window, I broke it, but I cant get the motor to budge. I have had problems with it before so im gunna try to fab in some lexan on hinges with some sort of lock at the bottom like on a regular truck topper.
