Hello, I bought this truck a couple of months ago and been working on it for a couple for weeks now, had a lot of frame rot! A lot of time cuting,grinding,fitting and welding, want see what you guy thought of it, and how I did with it. Everthing came out pretty good.

 

I have to ask did you change welding processes between the first and last pictures??

Your welding seems to have improved as you posted pictures.

One thing I have learned is to get new spring hangers and shock mounts makes things easier.

If this is your first one not bad.

 

That frame was looking bad with rust but you have it looking ten times better. Great job!!

Thanks guys, yeah it's my first time with frame work! Thank god I am welder and will upload some pics soon of it done.yes I was stick welding then my dad got a good miller mig welder and it was much nice!!

 

Great job getting it done. Those extended cabs are hard to find around here.

 

There's not a lot of older Toyota around my area. When you find usually you have to pay for them.

 

I think you did a pretty good job of saving what you could there. Give yourself a pat on the back.

Maybe I'm out of place; I think I might have gone with a new tubular back half job like they do on drag cars. A lot of that metal under there is pretty corroded, right up and under the cab. I wonder if you missed an opportunity to modernize the back half?

 

Might have been a budget limit .

Yes all new rectangle tubing with all new hangers and mounts would have been nice.

Sometimes you need to work with what you have.
