it would be lighter they could just push it into the street

4x2 was to make for less wirirng since I wanted simple as possible. It doesnt matter if its 4x4 ecu or 4x2 so I went with 4x2. The 4x4 ECU just has lights and slight idle controls it does.

ah, well in that case my mom's 99 4runner sitting in the driveway has a 3.4 with an auto trans, and 2x4 ecu.

so ill pull all the stuff out during the night and head up twoards WA, and they won't find me! lol

or.....

do an engine swap in our drive way, my mom won't notice the difference between the 3.4 and the 3.0! Lol (but i will when the 3.4 is in my truck) lol

well in all seriousness, the wrecking yards around here in CA. Ive been quoted about $2000 for a 3.4, harness, ecu, etc.

Idk, i still want to find a donor truck though, and have everything. wonder if i could ask my insurance company to keep an eye out for me for a totaled toyota with the 3.4, and i would buy it back from them! wonder if anyone has done that (i wonder if they would do that, how much they would want for the vehicle)

No, my mom accelerates so slooo to save gas, she probably wouldn't tell, except for the fuel injectors in mine being sooo loud! lol

Too funny!

Ide be curious about contacting insurance too about somthing like that.

$2000 for complete isnt to bad you can find them for less on like craigslist. they come and go so fast now you have to search multiple times a day.

Might be the best route for you to buy a complete motor from the yard!

maybe ill find out!!

But im thinking, if i can go though and get a donor, maybe the parents will let me. Ill just have to bribe them for parts for my moms runner!

like the visor thats ripped, the antenna, etc.....

"okay, if you let me have this donor truck for a little while, ill give you the visors, antenna, starter, etc... all the stuff you need. I mean come on, you don't have to pay anything except looking at it in the driveway"

(but then after i get it ill lie and make them pay for the stuff, lol jk)

Sure am looking forward to it running again!

Very soon I do have a few people wanting the motor for repacment 3.4's so will see! Once I get it sold I can buy the parts to get mine up and running.

Im selling a few parts on here too like my 5vz heavy 38lb flywheel. All parts I sell go to getting mine running again

If you happen to still have some of the measurements from your install, could you pm them to me, I'm starting the same thing on my '91 runner and need all the help I can get. The only difference is that mine will be streetable and carbed.

My goodness! I really like the Pacific Northwest...

I could visualize myself camping somewhere in my rig in WA. I'm sleeping through the night under the stars w/ my dog. Morning comes and as the sun rises, a thick fog rolls in and all of a sudden my dog starts looking around and becomes silent.

In the distance I hear (but can't see) crackin' limbs and shifting rocks and I begin to sweat, my dogs growling, and then...
...about 300ft away i see this beast rig rise above the fog, one axle flexed out over a 3ft jagged rock...rear trailing. In an dinosaur T-rex like sound, the leafs compress down on the axle clearing the massive boulder. I look in astonishment, my dog w/ his mouth open, motionless as this machine manuvers over impossible obstacles. Then i hear the motor effortlessly working in sync with the churning gears, getting closer, coming straight towards us. Petrified, i clench my 14'bowie, thinking this has to be a deranged local i might of upset going overland. Nearing 50ft, I still can't see the driver from the heavy fog, I only assume the worst. . .
Then, in a sudden flash, a reflective image struck my eye. Recognizable only with my eyes squinted, I am able to barely make out a "Yotatech" forum sticker. . .

...I regain my composure as I know its friendly, He creeps next to me and I notice its fillsrunner4! I tell him how thankful I am that it was him. I offer him a Cinder Cone Red, and I explain the anxiety I just went through, we both laugh & finish our brews.
