That is just how I was looking at it, the overall cost and availability.

I wonder if the Astro manifolds would fit better than your headers? I was thinking of getting headers but then again it came down to cost. Also most headers are usually made with cheap, thin metal so that is why I stay away from them since they do not last long.

James

Thanks for your input! I have done my research and see were your coming from, but you also have to understand this isnt a trail rig you see everyday. Ill come perpared with another starter just like it. All starters are about as expensive and people do sell these starters aside from summit. Also if it breaks on the trail for some reason its probably a solinoid which is easily fixable hell just keep it running! The 168th flywheel I have is also very heavy compared to that 22lb one your looking at. Ill end up with more power because of the heavy flywheel and alot more torque. For wheeling the ide go with the heavy flywheel anyday!

As for the headers... All are made out of thin metal Its exahsut, it doesnt need to be that thick. The headers increase power and performance. I dont know why you wouldnt want that? Cost wise for $180 when I didnt have any manifolds or crossover from the 4.3 I think is damn good! I run a flowmaster for the BP. Headers are the way to go! Fit wise... The headers dont take up room at all

What modifications did you have to make for the bellhousing when using the 168 flywheel? The directions say you have to machine out the pocket a little for the starter or is that with a stock style starter?

I havent had to machine anything for the starter yet nor do I think I have to with the mini starter. I would say thats for stock starters with the nose cones but im not positive about that. Included with my kit also when I bought my adapter for the 168th flywheel was a small spacer that pushes the Slave cylinder away from the bellhousing to help with clearance issues.

I know I know I know its all $$$ of course. This hobby is to expensive all I want to do is wheel! Im trying to sell my old 3.4 which just needs some electrical help and some misc parts to make the money plus I lost my job cause of some BS so its just making it harder right now.

Ill get it soon, ive been looking into the clutch kits I need and some copper tubing so very soon Ill be posting up my progress.

You know how it is sometimes

But trust me its not over

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f88/...-heavy-132060/

ford gas tank in rear, stock fuel pump for now but will soon put in an external pump. Pump was modded to ford sending unit. I ran new lines I bought from summit in rolls.

Nah cause if I drove down there and back in my chevy it would be like I sold it for 500

Find yourself a full donor rig it will save you so much headache. Im trying to sell this motor more as a replacement for a bad 3.4 cause mechanicaly its perfect but electronicaly is bad. I couldnt sell it to you or any yotatecher to do a swap with it would be too much trouble on you.

Come on up

Be ready to look for new elecrical stuff. the mechanical instalation is real easy. Wiring isnt too bad but a bit of time

Tell your parents all you need is a few days! Pull the motor and strip a few parts that you would like to sell and tell them youll give them partial profit or full but Lie and take half

I understand my parents (stepdad mainly) want all my parts out they dont much care about the tools but thats cause they use them.

Also what about some friends? would any of them let you keep it at there place thats what I do with my 4runner on the trailer I keep it t a friends till I am working on it

nope, i don't have any friends! lol jk

nope i don't think i could because my friends/parents don't want to look at it either.

besides I don't have the tools. i have basic hand tools, but at my house we have a engine hoist, stand, compresser w/ air tools, etc........

but my stepdad is anal about letting me use the tools.

So therfore i want to move out (among with other reasons), but with the rent costs of moving out, there goes the money needed for the 3.4.

thank god for financial aid, thats hopefully getting saved for the engine

I hear ya Step parents!

The time will come.

You come up you got a place to stay! I cant promise I can make it work for you but I could try. You would first need a new 3.4L 4x2 96 T100 wiring harness since mine was made for mine. Sensors and ECU might need to be replaced too. Thats why I think its best to get a full rig!

Find a friend down there and steel there driveway
