Dual T-case with custom 3 stick shifter

Hey guys, this is going to be my first on something like this so bear with me.
My plan is this, i want to use my r150f trans and bolt up a dual t-case but im not going to cut any other holes in the truck so hence the custom tri shift.

this is close to what i am looking at making

the main reasons for going to this is my clutch is slipping and the front drive line binds to badly at higher speeds

so i will try to keep up on pics and everything and let everyone know the progress.

1st question, i have heard of people using rear d-shafts up front for having the double cardan joint, what year and model are these from, i've had a hard time finding this but i know i have read it somewhere.

also link to pirate for the idea

Long wheel base trucks had the DC joint with the center support bearing and "two piece" rear driveshaft. All front shafts are single shafts. There is no DC on a front shaft.

welllllll Toyota Dealership called the "double joint" on my front driveshaft of my '80 a "Double Cardan"....so i went with it?

camo I think you had to have the 8' bed option for those two piece shafts with the center support. Even the ext cabs were still short wheel base I believe.

Anyway, this project looks pretty cool. Have no clue when it comes to dual cases really, but still like learning.

i would love just to buy one but with the v6 adapter thats going to move the crawl box (front reduction) shift lever back "x" amount of inches and right now i have a interior out of a 1988 reg cab. 2 buckets and the center console so im not sure how it would bolt in with out the truck and transfer there to mock one up. if you think that you could move all 3 to where the stock chain drive shifter is then by all means ill have you build it but......

also for the DS my rear has a carrier bearing in the middle and i think that all extended cabs have one where the wheelbase is 122.5" and the reg cab is 103.5" hence the need for longer DS

I think you would be much better off having two driveshafts made or make em yourself. Especially with 35's and 5.29's and then dual cases on top of that. Much better driveline angles that way. Of course you would loose some of your flat belly though.

I made a set for a friend with the forward shift front case, haven't seen it installed yet but it should work like you need.

The ones I have require modification to the floor for the rods and rear shift arms. Maybe not what you want then.

well i started thinking about what you said, so i looked on the internet. some pictures that i found suggest that there is very little room between the tunnel and TC. i keep thinking of how to seal the shafts, machining, and ext.

it seems that i always get my best thinking done in the shower

anyways i had one of those.......uh......whats it called........an EPIPHANY or a eureka moment but rather than linkages on top or the sides, what i plan on doing is using control cables or push/pull cables.

all the mechanism will actually be in side the TC. once i get the solid-works dwg done ill post it if anyone cares to see what my blabbering is all about

but the cables will run to the shift levers still so i still will run a tri-stick setup. so long story short, cables takes place of linkages. the rear shifter assembly hopefully will only stick up about 3/8 to 1/2 of an inch. this might give me enough room not to cut the tunnel.

If you guys cant tell im excited for my idea, now whether it works or not thats a differnt story
