well duh...

probably not hydraulic though. if they had hydraulic fluid in a rigid space, then they wouldn't give since the fluid wouldn't compress. probably high-pressure gas filled.

Thanks.

12 for travel.
X for Xtreme Engineering in Ft. Collins.
Cheese, well that's for me.

They are air bumps, like stubby air shocks. Nitrogen and oil, tunable, adjustable, etc.

Andy, it is a pre-runner. No need for front drive.

Got there, Nick says it corners really good. It gets into the bumps on a sharp corner at speed. Then he starts laughing and says, yeah, I think you are going to have a lot fun with this, lots of fun. Wide axles, low truck, fake swaybar, YAHOO!

Retail:
12" Fox Reservoirs with 5/8" shaft
3" stroke Fox Air bumps shimmed to 2.75" stroke
Diamond axle, Rock Logic Assist, Alcan Springs, MT/R's.

Total, "One MILLLLIOOON DOOOOLLARSSSSS"

Driving a big truck like a little car, priceless!

Your ride has officially been pimped.

Prerunner eh? I think you are on to something.

Fox Shocks, Airbumps....lllucckkkyyy. You want to take it off some sweet jumps?

You are going to need to get a "night" job now, to help your wallet recover from its recent hemmorage.

Thanks Gents.

Take a look at my old trail reports, lots of pics there. The truck is considerably different than my avatar and has been apart for almost exactly a year now.

Hopefully there will be some more pics this week as it gets back on the road.

As for the shaft, you guys are right. I didn't notice til I looked at the pictures, but someone stole it!!!

Air Bumps on a SAS?

First off I am not posting this to sound rude. With that being said, what is the point of having air bumps in a SAS? I am a long travel IFS guy and think they are a good idea for an IFS system that sees regular abuse. The whole point of an air bump is to prevent very hard bottom outs at high speed. I don't see an advantage of air bumps on solw speed 4x4'n/rock crawling if articulation was your reason for doing a SAS. All the air bumps I have seen are extremely stiff and I think would limit your articulation? Again I am not trying to be rude but just curious in why?

When one side goes up, it pushes the other side down perhaps? i ahve seen air shocks cross valved that way to make articulation easier.
