Talking BoB YoUr BED.....

hey so in the next couple of weeks i am going to be boboing my bed....i have a few concerns....one, i have never seen a clean bob...not sure if that is just the way it is or everybody that i know that has done it just didnt do a good job...please..pics if any body out there has a good looking one....my concern is because i have a very clean factory paint and no dents (yet)!!!!

That is a good bob, looks like he took his time and cared about the looks I think most bob's are done on trail rigs and looks aren't the concern. But if you want to do it right it sure is possible. Just look at any good hotrod they do some pretty amazing custom metal work :-)

you are right, that is a nice bob.....how did you blend the paint so good or did you paint the whole bed? i guess i really want a nice job cause i am going use the truck to sell tires in front of my tint shop on a articulation ramp and i like the way she looks not being all beat up and what not! all my friends who weld all have welders that wont turn to a low enough heat that it wont burn thru the sheet metal....does any one know who does good work in the vancouver wa area.

no that isnt my truck.. i can only dream, that truck gives me chill bumps everytime i look at it, i just seen it on here. contact that guy on here and im sure he could tell you all the steps

When I did the body work on my 4runner we used a wire feed, I cant remember the exact specs ill ask my buddy tommorow. Oh, one more thing, where is WA in Vancouver?

Here is one for ya-

Take your time, low heat on the welder. I cut a strip of the extra metal and put behind the seam to help with the burn through. Looks alittle better now after a good paint buff to blend the touch up paint.

Scuba- Full time farrier for 16 years- Dressage and Three Day horses in southeast PA

Yoder- 4:88's are ok with the 35's, truck is an automatic, got the front third with locker in a swap so I went with it. I have 5:29's ready to go with my SAS
