Thanks Ryan, but no progress has been made since our trip unfortunately. I got promoted at work, and since then I've been busy working my a$$ off, and it paid off today when we received the word that we were to the top office in the region, which is always good to hear after some hard work.

Dang it's been a while since I posted any updated photos of my bumper in here. Here's a link to a large photo of my bumper with the plastic cover off showing it's mounts:

Thanks......, a lot of planning went into my design, but this was a one time deal. I did go over to Jason Demello's shop so he could see how it was made. At this time I'm a very busy person and don't even have the time to work on my own rig. Eventually I'll have a page up on my website with detailed plans, so anyone with fabrication skills could easily copy it.

Hey Bruce, are you running 35" tires on the stock rims limited rims? What width tires do you have? Are you getting any more rubbing in the rear?

Sounds good man, let us know when you get some detailed measurements up, I wouldn't mind getting that bumper fabbed up for myself.

I haven't done the detailed diagrams yet, but I did manage to build a webpage Here:

P.S. The rear of my 4Runner that is. By the way, how much weight have you towed with the bumper? Any concerns about towing?

I've towed my boat and a trailer loaded, no problems. The towing capacity should be equivilant to the factory hitch.

dragr1, considering your rig is the only one that has Tom's bumper......

He hasn't sold it to anyone yet. He called me the other day-he lives in Wisconsin now and he's just getting geared back up to do some more metal work after the move and settling in. He didn't mention anything about the rear bumpers, so I don't know. This should be his current e-mail if you want to contact him:

tom@trailcarnage.com

His website is still up, but it had crashed and he is in the process of rebuilding it:

http://www.trailcarnage.com/

If his e-mail doesn't work post here and I'll call him and get a current one.

Awesome Bruce, I'll be sure to check that out. I'm planning on getting a new car in about a year and then the Runner is gonna turn into a trail rig, but for now I gotta keep it in one piece until I graduate from college.

The finishing of my rear bumper is and has been on hold because I'm going to be test fitting some Q78x16" tires to see what kind of clearance issues I'll have.

But, on a cheap alternative note, I've found that a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo tank will fit in between the frame rails of a 3rd generation 4runner, and has about 21 gallons capacity which is a little larger than stock too. Plus, Joe Darlington from Darlington Off-Road is going to give me a spare for free, which is about $500 in savings from designing one.

I do have a question, though. Since I'm going to be using Front Range Off-Road's transfer case crossmember/skid plate combo, do you guys think getting rid of both the front and rear crossmembers leaves the frame rails too weak? I know that once I redesign my rear suspension, lengthen the lower arms, etc, that I'm going to replace the rear one, but in between that time, do you think it will be strong enough without either one and only replaced with the FROR one?
