Is the Isuzu tank "flatter" than the 4Runner tank? What are the dims? What about connectivity? Pump and gas gauge compatiblity? Fuel line connections? Physically fitting between the framerails is a small part of the equation.

Yeah, it's flat top and bottom. Dimensions are that it will fit back there, and it's abot 12" deep, which is deeper than I wanted, but it will rarely get hit. As far as connectivity that I know so far, it's the same two wires to the pump, the tubing looks to be similar, and the rest is unknown. It's free so it doesn't matter to me if it works or not. The point right now is that it's free, and I don't see any problems with it working, do you?

Sounds like it may work out great. I've been trying to investigate the Pathfinder tank application which sounds to be similar to the Rodeo. It may be shallower though. I need to brave the snow and hit the pick-n-pull for some recon.

Yeah, I've heard that's an option too. Shallower wouldn't hurt in my opinion, because ideally I'd like the Isuzu one to be like 9-10", but free is really hard to pass up. If it works, it will definitely be a cheap option for those interested even from the local salvage yard. Let us know how the pathfinder options turn out.

Well, I should have the Isuzu tank in hand on March 14th, so stay tuned for some good pics of my gas tank relocation.

Well, other than sanding it down for paint and capping off the part just under the door, it's finally close to being done:

Well, tonight I'm planning to sand it all down, remove all the rust, and if everything goes pretty quickly hopefully get the first coat of paint on it. We'll see!

Well, half of it's primed, tomorrow I'll flip it over and prime the rest, and if everything goes as planned I'll have it finished being painted by Friday.

I went ahead and primed the rest of it this morning, so hopefully I'll be able to paint half of the first coat of semi-gloss on it tonight.

Please don't rub it in! It's pathetic isn't it? I hate that I took this long to finish it, but waiting till I got my fenders cutout was a good thing too, because I had to redo the passenger side and didn't have to on the driver's side because I never finished it.

The only thing I have to do to finish it off now is finish with this coat of paint so it doesn't continue to rust, and then cap off the part between the top of the bumper and the body with some 20 guage sheet metal.
