yea I'm in there talking to a taco guy. once you finish signing up, you have to download the program, once you already download it. install, start it up, and then click on the link

Very simple. It's a pain in the butt to open the tire swing and the tailgate. It really cuts down on access to the rear area. You'll find yourself stuffing everything in the back seat instead.
It's just a alot more of a hassle opeing the tailgate.

Have you tried to put a 285 down there? Will it hit the panhard rod? My 265 is very close.

Having to leave it aired down completely doesn't bother me much, but what about when you drop off a rock and hit it. It's not going to hit the tire, but instead of the rim, which is the part I don't like.

I don't disparage the hatch thing as much as Steve. To some degree I rather enjoy playing with the carrier. I think that it would have more wheeling drawbacks putting it underneath, but how much time is that best case scenario???
If you travel by yourself, as in no passengers, then it is not a big deal to put it in the cargo area, not a big loss.
If you carry a lot of gear, then that is not as practical.
As for material, I think Steve was saying the corners should be thicker. I would agree with that for some extra piece of mind and minimal weight gain. Doing the whole thing that way would be absurdly heavy.
Dan, Steve was a great host in town and on the trails. I am applying to graduate schools and had a good meeting with the Philosophy department down there. If anything, it would be the Fall of 2004. That being said, I may need to come by over Christmas break to check them out again...
