I used a turnbuckle on my LSPV so that way it was still adjustable. Works pretty well IMHO.

If at any time you want a hand with it, PM me or give me a call. I think ive got the next couple saturdays off.

I have always liked your 2nd gen..it will be sweet with the SAS and 3.4

If I had the $$ and skill, I would do the exact same setup.

Looks like you are doing exactly what I plan on doing in the future. I will be waiting to see how it turns out. Good luck with the rest of the build!

Ok I got back in the garage today, and between changing the brakes on a KIA I got some work done, not much but its going pretty smooth. The next thing im waiting for is the plasma cutter, then I can begin cutting everything.

I was wondering how you guys move the steering box forward, mine has no room to be moved, I can maybe go 1/4" before I hit the body mount. So what am I missing here?

you usually have to cut a hole in the radiator core support. the more bodylift you have the less you have to cut.

I just got done researching this. I think im just going to try to move it as far forward as possible (with no cutting) and rotate it as far forward as possible. I should be able to get it all to fit then.

I'm not sure what the differences for different gens, but I didn't have to move/cut anything out of the way, but I have an 85.

he wants to move the box forward from that wabbit. imagine that front bolt all the way up to the frame body mount. yes, that is what he wants to do.

Not questioning his right to do it...but what is the point of moving it THAT far forward? Just curious.

then you can move the axle THAT far forward as well.

greater approach angle and keeps the tire out of the firewall, also helps with d-line angle, and helps f/r weight distribution a tad.

Well, I should have said something, my apologies, I felt that was the reason but that there was something more than just moving the axle forward. Considering how easy it was IMO to trim the firewall, I would be interested to see how much trouble it is to trim the other direction.

Im getting off to a slow start. Im having trouble getting ahold of the guy who im buying the plasma cutter off of then I have to wire 220 out to the garage. Before I buy the wire I need to know what the amperage pull is. Its capable ot cutting 5/16" plate (i think) I also am having trouble getting my 3rd back from the guy who is setting up my gears, so I cant begin to rebuild the front axles. hopefully once I get the cutter this job will speed up. But its going very smoothly so i cant complain Ill take slow and smooth.

Try Trail-Gear.com. I have there High-Steer kit and the pitman arm is a little different that others, plus it's only $369.00 with free UPS shipping.
