Run Idea... Red Creek
#42
I am not 100% sure on making breakfast. Depends on who ends up in my passenger seat.
Let's make a firm start time for 9:00 AM at the Bartlett Lake turnoff. There is a good sized dirt lot there at the E of the road.
9:00 should give those meeting for breakfast time to eat... and will give those late risers an extra 1/2 hour or so to sleep in before hitting the trail.
Looking forward to seeing you all there. PM me if you need directions to the meeting point.

Let's get a head count for this run.
Just post up if you are in, and if you are planning breakfast first.
For me, I am definitely in for the run (good thing since it was my idea
) and at about a 50/50 for breakfast.

John or someone else might be able to link you to a map.
Basically, take the 101 to the Pima exit. Take Pima North all the way to the 4-Way stop junction with Cave Creek road. Go right (E) on cave creek and eventually you'll start climbing a hill. At the top, you'll see Bartlett turnoff on your right and a dirt lot. Just park there and you'll be in the right place.
Should be a fun day.

Depends on how much time people wish to spend relaxing at the Verde.
I'd estimate it will take 2-3 hours from the Bartlett meeting point to the Verde.
Will depend on how long it takes to run Red Creek.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the A/C done in my Runner Friday afternoon. I had the compressor & dryer as well as all the 'O' rings replaced, yet there were a couple pieces (such as the expansion valve which I couldn't find when installing the other stuff) that still needed to be done before it could be Flushed, Vac'd & Charged. I just don't have enough time or the parts to have it done by Sunday Morning.
Because the A/C didn't get done and I got 2 small kids with me (not to mention the fact of how dusty the 7 Springs road will be) we would have to drive the entire trip with all the windows down. We did that for the Smiley Rock trip and it sucked, bad. On that trip, we were the third of 3 trucks for 30 miles, and on these switchback dirt roads, is not the best without having Recirculating Air and closed windows! :p
We will have to hit the next trail run. I just don't feel comfortable without A/C ont his run. I hope you guys understand!

If you like, you can go first. You have a CB, so I can tell you where the Red Creek trail turns off. Once on Red Creek, I'll lead again. They'll be no dust there as speeds are slow and probably will be water.
I don't have AC either, but don't have the concern for little ones. I'll hang back just a bit so my dust level stays down.
How's that sound?

Thanks for the offer Elvota, however I have the front grill off, the A/C system lines @ the firewall, dryer & compressor off (so it can be flushed) as well as the interior torn apart from the radio bezel over to the passenger door all taken off. I have to take out the under dash A/C box to replace the Expansion Valve.
I have to get the A/C done before the 110+ heat - today I had the kids out running around for about an hour an a half today and their cheeks were SO red and sweating up a storm in the back seat.
I just need to get this done, and I was hoping to have it finished already!
