To be honest, I have never really timed it. I know it's a ways out to the trail, but feels no where near as far as Sheep's Bridge.

Once on the trail, we'll just have to see how quickly the group gets through. If it turns out to be a small group and everyone moves well we may shave a lot of time.

But, as a guess, 3 hours from Bartlett to the Verde, 3 hours back.

I really really really want to come tomorrow - BUT......

Stupid job. Todd McFarlane (my boss) is doing an autograph signing at the D-backs game tomorrow with Curt Shilling from 12 till 2 and kinda have to be there.

I see a thread rolling around here about heading out to Telegraph Canyon and I am all about that. I love the Florance area. I was suggesting we get together in advance to chedk out that area because there are SO many trails out there.

Have fun you guys - take a billion pics to make me more jealous that I already am.

Close call. I started changing my rear axle seal around 7:30 tonight. That went pretty quick, but while I was changing the brake shoes over, one of the fatty springs took off and it took me over an hour to find it. Meanwhile I was wondering where I could buy one at 10pm on a saturday night??? Well that little sucker must have flown right past me... but I found it and all is good. See ya in the morning.

I'll definitely be taking some pics. Just picked up a new digital camera tonight, and I'm gonna test it out tomorrow.

See everyone at 9!

Good run today guys. I had forgotten how long the 2WD dirt road was out to the actual trail. Hopefully the trail was worth the drive. Looked like everyone was smiling at the end, so thats a good sign.

Seemed like some of the alternate lines on the way back added some good challenge for everyone. It's nice to see all those 4Runners performing so well.

I didn't even snap one shot with the camera. I am sure others did though.

Sounds like many have not done Sunflower Mine trail yet... that's one that shouldn't be missed. Maybe we can squeeze that one it some time soon.

Hey Steve thanks again - that was a fun ride. Thanks for helping me find that perfectly square rock too.

Nice meeting everybody too. Good group!

Looking forward to the next run. I'll download pics in a day or so.

Great time, awsome trail and even more awesome people. Thanks to all for the help.
I learned a couple of things on this:
1--a BudBuilt skid would make me feel better
2--getting my sliders mounted would also make me feel better
3--I shouldn't try and follow Steve ALL the time , at least not yet

Pictures...

Here are some pics, I'm getting the videos uploaded to Google now. Carl, the one of you on that rock, is a 14 minute video, so I'll have to upload that tonight. I'll keep this updated as I get things uploaded.

Sorry, most of what I got was video, not pictures. Unless you want pictures of the area, like the mountains and river.

Steve's Bumper vs Rock

Zona4R: I just think that line required the entry from far left, or the hole. I am not sure if the factory bumpers would clearance it though, so we might have had an even bigger problem. Without being left, you rear is just in the wrong place. I thought that obstacle was difficult... more tippy than it looked.

I wonder what it would be like the other direction?

That's why I like four wheeling so much I think. Seems like there is something new to learn every time I go out. The alternate lines added some spice to Red Creek. Always wanted to see how well the creek could be followed... and now we know.

I agree though, some armor goes a long way in making the uncomfortable comfortable.

Hey weiln... thanks for taking the time to post all that up. Impressive that your camera can store all those minutes of video in it's memory.

Don't you know your supposed to destroy any taped evidence of one of us failing or retrying an obstacle??

Dangit! That's my bad. Let me get that fixed for ya...

And ya, I just got the camera. I have an 8GB SD card in it, so I can record about 2.5 to 3 hours of video. Too bad I can't record myself hitting EVERYTHING! I need to figure out how to get a bottom mounted video camera to record my impacts.

It was great to be out there with you guys. I'm going to learn a lot, just by watching you guys drive. As evidenced by the banging around I did, my lines aren't as good as I thought they were...

Wow. Looks like a good time. Carl, I'm still waiting to see if you ever get off that rock.
I can't wait for the next run! I am sick as a dog and wishing I was able to stay in town so I could run this.
Elvota, I hope you didn't stall. The flite was delayed and I didn't get home until past noon!! And then I slept and took cold drugs...

Looked like a good run! I am pretty upset I had to sit this one out! I just felt it was best considering how long that road is to Bloody Basin! I remember doing that years ago prior to kids and my arse hurt because of how long the ride was from Seven Springs to the Bloody Basin & I-17 intersection!

I am looking forward to getting this Runner up to par and the kids are bugging us to take them out!!

Looks like a sick time and all had fun!

Hope to see everyone on the 24th for the BBQ @ my place!

John

My back was killing me by the end of the day. The lumbar adjustment apparently is a cleverly disguised flat blade that attacks your back during bumpy roads. My back felt like someone had hit it with a bat, over and over again before I realized what was going on.

But, it was a good run. I definitely want to take my brother and his Jeep out there to see how well he does.
