Mike - if you need a hand with the SAS don't hesitate to give me a shout. Not that I have any SAS experience but I can help hold stuff and turn some wrenches.

Jon and Steve, thanks for the offers. I may take you up on that. Maybe a little wrenching then barbeque/adult beverages. Perhaps we can get it knocked out in short order. Funny how folks like to hang out when a truck is getting cut up.

Hmmm...... Seems my garage enters the house through the laundry room that has a dryer that hooks up to..... aha!! 220V

Welding equipment has a different plug than a dryer, but they are both 220V. If you want to buy both ends and make an adapter that would work. You also need a big compressor to run the cutter.

Mike: Well, Schaefer was kind enough to offer me his plasma cutter for my SAS. I'd never really used one before though and in my excitement to get to work, I didn't think to practice on some scrap first, and well..... You see whats left of 'er.

I built an extension cord for my 220V when I was running the welder off the oven in the kitchen.
Yes, I used to slide the oven out and plug in my welder.
Anyway... there is a good chance it would work for you Mike if the plugs are the same. It would be easy enough for you to by different end(s) if needed. It's the wire itself that's the spendy part.

I suppose if Schaefer brings tools he'll drive the Tundra. Otherwise if we could get him to bring the buggy, it would look like hillbilly heaven out there with Jon's being the only "civilized" vehicle in sight. Hoo-boy, I can see the for sale signs going up already!!
Yeah. Big dirty trucks. Loud music. Grinders. Sparks flying. A tub of beer and ice. Maybe I could roll the barbecue out front and we could rig up the 220 straight out of the breaker box. All we would need then is some loud women in tube tops and the picture would be complete.

Well when I get there I can park out front and we can put it on blocks and pull the tires. We wouldn't want to confuse your neighbors.
Is your circuit breaker box on the garage wall? If so we could just install a 220v outlet right there and forego the dryer/stove/extention.
Otherwise it would be prudent to put your clothes dryer on the front lawn for the time being.
We'll have to temper the brew intake and shackle Shaefer while he's manning the Plasma cutter lest my truck lose its IFS bits too.

Why, roll out the BBQ just hook the grill up to schaefer's buggy.

Yes, I can see it now... I have that extra axle out back but what about....Yeeeessss! We can put my old rear springs up front.
But alas, it's a 3rd gen with it's sordid passenger side drop. Oh, what to do? Perhaps I will consult with the evil scientist sschaefer3 to see what sort of mad abomination he can conjure. And at last, at last, the off road world SHALL BELONG TO US!!!!! AHAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA.
