In a way I believe they do, but not in the way I think you might be thinking. Alot of people get sponsored but it's such a minimal amount of money, it's almost never worth the amount of time it takes...lots of phone calls, emails and then just meeting with the people to convince them they should sponsor you...

The trip was good...going out wheeling is always fun. Apparently my fiance had forgotten how rough the ride could be. It was funny listening to her after every sharp turn in the wash or hard bump...not to mention her asking me,
Her: "You're not going up there are you?"
Me: UUHHH, yeah. Why not?
Her: Do you have to take the road less traveled...?
Me: It's not less traveled, people just usually come down that way and I want to see if I can make it up.
Her: Why?
Me: Because I can!

It was funny, part way up the 4Runner took a little hit and the video cut out and went to black. Oh, and I did make it up...it was just a little rough nothing too gnarly though.

HEY and get this...there was a completely stock FORD ESCAPE wheeling out there...we got video of it going up a nice hill. He lost traction part way up, had to back down a little, and gunned it on the way up...you had to see it. It was pretty cool.

Jeff and I might be planning on another trip out there soon (next couple to three weeks if all goes well) so you guys should plan on going with us. It will more than likely be on a Saturday so plan for it if you want to be there. I'd like to see us show up in force like the K5's we had seen out there too.

Like Ted says - Pics or it didn't happen:

Like Ice Cube says: Took another sip of the potion hit the three-wheel motion

And the Escape:

You guys missed out on a great day! Although we were at the lake, no one was eaten by a shark, piranha or aligator - The water is safe Ted

Hopefully we can head back out there again soon with the rest of you guys.

I LOVE it! the only thing that i don't love about it is the lack of power from the 3.0. other than that - it is everything I want/need in an off road rig. What drew me to it initially was the removable top. I have had this truck for over 6 years and I think I the top has been on it less than 90 days total. Antoher thing I love is that it is super easy to work on, parts are plentiful and easy to get, there is a ton of aftermarket stuff for it too. Mine has over 195k miles on it, and when this motor dies, depending on my financial situation, I want do to the 3.4 swap; but if I can't afford that I'll just throw in another 3.0.

You need to come out with us soon and you can check it out first hand.

Hey Jeff, what do you think in the next couple or three weeks, we do this again? Any takers?????? Oh Yeah forgot to mention...I have my new sliders all tack welded together. Just need to do the finishing welds and then work on the legs to the frame. WOOOHOOO and even less money than I thought...I've spoken to Brandon about a shirt for you...what size do you wear? He said you asked for stickers...I'll shoot for both.

Ok, spoke with him today and he's cool with both...the XL's wear like a large so thats what I told him to bring you...and the stickers too...but I dont know what kind it will be...one style that I've seen is in really big lettering though...it'd cover the whole rear window....if you had one...or one of the front doors....if they weren't tube...how bout the Hood? I'd like to go on the 16th but need to check and see on my side...she's talking about going there but to play in the damn water with our daughter. And we have plans for the 23rd....but can't remember what.

Let's put it to a vote for those who want to go.

Looks like a good time but just a little to hard core for me...I need to be able to drive it during the week...maybe when I get a little more armor and finish working out all the bugs.

Gotta ask you though...is ALL of Ajax like this? I've seen some of the YouTube videos of it and some were pretty gnarly (spelling) and others seemed a little more tame than this. Please tell me they have a by-pass route for the more extreme stuff?

Ted - Thank you so much for the hook up from Brandon - I really really appreciate it! If the sticker is super huge, I'd entertain the idea of putting it on the hood after I paint it. Let me know when you got that stuff in your hands and I'll come by and pick it up.

Also, I have some friends who live out near Florance and they take me wheelin back that way all the time - some parts are wicked hard, others are easy and fun but nothing we can't handle - there is something for everyone out there - plus there is The Coke Ovens and Martinez Mine to check out that way too. My friend Bill knows that area way better than I know Butcher Jones - he takes us in and out a different way almost everytime we go out there. When you're ready for something harder, longer and more challenging that Butcher Jones we need to make a run out to the Box Canyon area with them.

I've always wanted to do Sunflower - this time of year would be great to go. I'd prefer going with someone who has been there before to guide us because I have heard sooo many different accounts of what the trial is like - some say its a 2, and others say its a 4.5 (out of 5).

I'd like it even more if we could get Mike (BLKNBLU) to show us the way!
