3rd gen rear bumper
here is my 3rd gen rear bumper
It only took about 3 hours of work and alot of planning
I removed the old crossmember (spare tire) for a higher clearence one

Here it is after being painted. Notice the 2"x2" supports added and the new crossmember
I am gonna add a tire carrier eventually. The shackel hangers are almost done (only had 3/4 bit fo drill press) and can be welded soon.
What do ya guys think?????

Nice, I'm eager to see what you do with the sides.
Why did you put the hitch on the bottom? Won't that just catch on stuff? (just some constructive critisim...)

the hitch is the level of the frame rails so he is really not losing much there and gettin stuck he should just slide over, i can't see it gettin caught on much but its possible

The rear is the highest part of my truck now, I beefed up the cross member by adding one that is much taller than the previous one

Here is a good pic of the bumper. The cross member was welded on later that day. The shackle hangers, tire carrier and sides are still being constructed......

Looking good!
One thing though... i didn't see anything more about the side part in your to do list. Is that all your going to do for the sides or are you going to put something on there to cover that grose part of the body up.
