I have never really looked to deep into what the purpose of the PHDB is. I did a search but can only find threads showing pics or members telling others to get it. But what does it do? Who makes them & for how much? Im all about buying something new if it will assist me in one way or another. Blue

 

From Steve's site:



When you lift, it shifts your axle to the passenger side because the Panhard rod ends up at an angle. Dropping it, levels it back out, and in so doing, recenters your axle.

For 2nd Gen's this means pulling the driveshaft away from the gas tank a little so there isn't contact during articulation.

 

so if im lifting mine 3rd gen. 2.5" (spacers) do i need to do this ?

It's one of those things, you don't have to, but it wouldn't be a bad idea. On full stuff after my lift, my tires would get really close to my flares on the passenger side. Now, it's not an issue.

Cebby, I know that's an issue with 3rd gens, is it also an issue with 2nd gens or is that a typo?

 

Yeah, the dshaft hits the gas tank on 2nd gens too.

BBB, I'd think that with your lift kit you would already have a panhard drop or lift or adjustable panhard. I'm not sure though as I haven't looked into lift kits too much.

 

I wasn't sure about the 3rd Gens, but I was sure about the 2nds. So basically, what Steve said...

Look at the 2nd pic, that's my drive shaft with the 3" extension. Can't imagine without it.
