What do we think of the winch?

I know, it's not a Warn but it's a Ramsey!

http://www2.northerntool.com/product..._200183124.htm

http://www.ramsey.com/winches/rep85e.html

Specs state 8500 pull (500 more than Warn M8000, not that I need it), made in USA, lifetime warrenty, etc.

Ramsey is not a no-name brand, and $400 is dirt cheap! I could easily afford a 50' synthetic line and even a remote for it too! (safety first)

Just share your opinions with me, I'm 90% sure this will fit a TJM-13 and may be the winch I get. I'm alos a firm beliver in getting a winch before a locker, so this needs to happen first.

Thanks!

Well, yeah I could have.

M8000 is still only $550, not bad really.

I would want to add either synthetic rope or a wireless remote or both for safety so that is another $300 or so.

I am seeing conflicting reports as to weather this winch has power out or not though, I son't want if it it dosen't have power out.

I would rather pay $150 more for a Warn, seems like a good deal though.

Also I am looking at the pdf owner's manual and it seems as if the solanid position would not work well with a bullbar, crap.

I may be mistaken but I believe that that particular model winch is basically the same as the HF one and the milemarker one. I got the Tabor 9k from Clemson 4wd for like $500 and some change with free shipping. Came to me in like two days. I had the HF one and it crapped out on me pretty fast. I am not sure about the Warn or the Ramsey, but with the HF one the housing that holds the brushes is made of plastic and if it gets too hot it will melt the housing.

I thought that too but I did my homework and they are different.

This winch won't work with my TJM though without a plasma cutter getting involved, so I think I may just go with a Warn M8000 with 50" synthetic line and add wireless whenever I can.

How do you like the Warn Tabor?
