Transfer Case whining when decelerating

ok, I have an 85 4runner, and my transfer case has always made a whining type noise, however it only does it when you are decelerating, and over like 40 mph, if you are going up a hill, and there is torque applied from the engine it wont do it, however, when you get to the top of that hill, and let off the gas, it will do it, until you put torque pressure back on it. so basically it is the "in between" acceleration, and deceleration, it has done it forever, I just put new 90w in the case, thinking that might help, but still have the noise, my impression is that it is a bearing inside the case going bad, I just did dual cases, with a 4.7 gearset too, I thought that might also eliminate the noise, but still there, has anybody had this happen before?, was it just a bearing swap?
