Taco CV's - Where to get for the best price?
During my last trip through a mud hole I discovered that I have torn boots on both cv's on my taco. Needless to say they filled up with mud and pretty much got destroyed.
Where is the cheapest place to get them? Does anybody make a stronger version of them?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Those are absurd prices. I'd stay away from the autozoo ones. Parts chain stores take the shafts and grind them down then use oversized bearings and such. If you want stronger call George Stuckey at CV unlimited

I suggest you look at junkyards for some used ones. The manual hub axles are actually hardened from the factory, thus stronger. (I am assuming you have manual hubs?)
When I broke mine in Colorado, it was not just a clean break, you can see how the metal twisted and even bent the splines. On an ADD axle or an aftermarket axle, they are not hardened and will break easier.
Don't skimp on axles, get used ones and rebuild them.

My understanding is that the aftermarket axles they sell you at Auto Zone or whatever are about equivalent in strength.
You can take your stock axles in as a core and spend a lot less.

There is no comparisson on the stregnth of AZ vs stock axles. Spend a day somewhere that makes CV shafts like CV unlimited and you'll learn alot about CV's. Go the the junkyard and get a set or go somewhere like CVU. CVU had a setup at one point using tundra outers
