RUF swap question

...allright i need to do a RUF swap and i dont want to move my steering box... ive been searching but all i come up with is people moving there steering box forward 2" or more...is there anyway to do the swap without moving it? like redrilling the springs possibly?... a lil background..i set the hanger forward about an inch compensating for when i put a V8 in but i dont think im going through with it and if i do a RUF swap they will fit perfectly..

thanks for any help

you can drill holes in the spring perches / u-bolt plates 3/4" or so forward from the stock location. that would move the front axle back a lil bit. when you use rear springs it moves your front end forward 1 1/2" ? (cant remember of the top of my head) plus you moved the hanger forward. so moving the steering box forward might be your only option.

when i did the swap i had to move my box forward.

Re-drill the perches, check both first before drilling as there are often existing holes in one of them. If so, match the hole on the other perch. That will get you around 1.5" back on the axle, the springs move it 2" forward, so net 1/2" forward.

Or you can run a relocation plate if you don't want to drill the perches:
