Replacing coil springs, need some help
I'm looking to raise the new 4runner a bit, and was looking at the OME/Tunda setup, but I really don't need that much lift.
My next (original) plan is to just replace the 2WD springs I have now, with some 4WD springs.
My main concern in doing this is the shocks. There's no need to replace them as of yet, I think they're fine. I'm just starting to hate how low the 2WD 4runner sits.
So my question is, which 4WD springs should I get? I searched and searched for an answer because I know it's out there, but came out with nothing. I think I remember reading that the '99 4WD springs are a little taller, I could be wrong though.
So which coil springs would you choose, keeping in mind I want to keep OEM 2WD shocks.

And also, I've been searching for a while, and I can't find a place that sells the springs. I know they're out there.
Any recommendations on where to buy these from?

I might as well save up for a real lift.

That seems a bit high to me. You can find brand new coils with lift for that amount.
I bet with some searching you can find some used ones in good condition that are much cheaper than that.

The 99 4wd has the extra coils... I heard that some 00's have it also... However, my 00 is an early build and did not have the longer coils... Best bet is to stick with the 99's. Fink should have his 99 4wd rear coils for sale...

If you're only changing the rear springs, it's fine to keep your stock shocks. However, if you're changing your springs up front as well, I think you need to get new shocks as the 2WD shocks are shorter. Up front, you have a coilover system and having a taller spring with a shorter shock may cause issues. As I'm not an expert on this, I don't know if I'm 100% factual.
