solid axle? buy the stock in DOM and have a machine shop thread it. Maybe one of the hysteer guys will sell you them (marlin, allpro, etc...)

I know FROR sells them custom as well (for their diamond housings)

yeah, '85 front axle. coils and links.

I've got a bunch of links to sites I've found, just wondering if there are some that are better thabn others, or if there are huge price differences, etc...

Ive got the Trail Gear Hy-steer kit on mine. The Rod ends do not have grease fittings which I dont like but they did send me all new ones when one wore out after 10 months. It went bad due to a death wobble problem. Cant really say it was a bad part. But A+ for customer service.

Oh and the arms are not billet.

I just ordered some Midwest Control 3/4" heims from Ballistic Fab. I am going to make a new tie rod out of 1.5" 1/4" wall DOM and use tubing inserts for the heims. I will have to take off the steering arms and drill out the tapered hole (originally for the FJ80 TRE) to fit a 3/4" bolt.

My current setup are FJ80 TRE's and 1.25" 1/4" wall DOM and hydro assist. I bent up the tie rod and broke my hydro ram. I couldn't ever get the TRE's to stop moving around with the hydro assist. I personally like heims over TRE's. Easier to work with and you don't need a pickle fork to remove the heims from the steering arms to make toe adjustments.

While that is a fine way to go. Most people do not like heims on the street. They seem to be sloppy as time goes on. As long as you arent breaking them I would run "1 ton fj80 TRE's"

thanks. I ended up going with a heavy duty Tie Rod, and FJ80 TREs, and a FJ80 TRE for the pitman arm end of the draglink, and a heim for the axle end...

still waiting on my wheels to come in so I can get the tires mounted and we can figure out the bump stop settings, and see how much clearancing is needed for the steering...

I agree, the TRE's are better on the street. My little brother has been running heims on his YJ for 5 years now (although not a DD) and hasn't had any issues with them. I hope to get 5 years out of my new steering setup.
