rear window

got a 2nd gen 4runner with stock tire carrier....my back got dented, rolled off the edge and hit a tree....well my window does not even go half way down....it not super bad....can i take apart the window from the inside to dent it back out so my window works??????

Should be able to. The carpeted section on the inside of the tailgate will pop off, provided you can get it off with the gate closed. Behind it is a metal shield that's screwed to the tailgate. You need to take that off too. Then it will all be open to you. You will need the window to be up in order to get to your dent. I think the tailgate will need to be closed for this, as I don't think you can put the window up with it open. I never tried. You could try it though. It would make it easier.

You can rig the limit switches inside the door to make the relay "think" the door is closed. Look at how the door closed/locked switch works and it is easy to figure out how to close it with the door open and then you can roll the window up and down as needed.

the back door is closed the window goes up...only goes down a few inches....i need to go through the back and push the dent out....i took everything apart to get to the window....where i'm stuck...there is a bumch of stuff in there, i need to take out the motor and junk to push out the back door....can this even be done....wont the window be loose when i disconnect it from the motor.....boy this sucks

you might also want to try one of those suction cup things you can get a body shop and pull the dent from outside rather than trying to pound it out from inside. i did this to a door once and it worked pretty well.

i was gonna try the suction cup but the back door has a tire swing.....that comes with a thick plate on the back that i dont think can be sucked out has to be pushed
