quick question about land cruiser coils

will front coils from a 95 fzj80 work on the rear of my 95 4runner? I know they are a little taller then the rears but they are also softer correct? Able to score a pair for 20 bucks and want to know if its worth it.

Alright so apparently the rear coils will only work on the rear of a 96-02 4runner, not my 95. Well that sucks.

Did you search in the second gen forum? There's a LONG thread about LC coils and shock lengths in there - even gives the color codes for the springs.

are you talking about the balljoint spacer/cruiser coil thread? I havent read all of it but i have glanced through it. I search and found another thread with the exact answer i needed. The front coils are used in the rears of 96-02 and the rears are used in the rears of 90-95. Im getting a set of the rear coils instead and plan on putting the longer side on the gas tank side because I tend to have a full tank of gas and im almost sure that i dont weigh more then a full tank of gas. Ive also read mixed posts about being able to use the stock shocks and rear brake lines. Apparently if you leave the stock shocks, they limit travel enough so that you cant tear the rear brake line. Considering i just bought brand new reflex shocks im just gonna hold off getting new ones till i have the extra money.

I don't know man. Maybe a chemical engineer can straighten me out on the weight of gasoline but I doubt it's that much different than water which is about 8 pounds per gallon. Approximately 15 gallon tank and were looking at a 120# guy. Does that describe you?

6'2 pushin 150. Blah. I guess ill just reverse the sides then. From reading all 11 pages of the bj spacer/cruiser coil thread looks like i got more buying to do. If all goes well with the coils, im gonna pick up some brake lines from marlin and some bj spacers from a local friend. Gonna just wing it on the panhard bar and either not put the drop bracket in or make one myself. With the added weight of my brush guard and roof rack, i think ill be just fine with the 31x10.50s for now. Worse comes to worse ill take off my body lift until i can afford some 33x10.50s.

Sounds like a deal to me. They provide quite a bit of lift - what are you going to do with the front until the BJ spacers get there? Stinkbug?

Just gonna wait till I have all the parts of the lift before I go for tackling it. I seem to be coming around some pretty good deals so im just gonna wait to get everything. I know its gonna be until summer before I can cough up the money for some 33s so im either gonna wait and do it when I get new tires or put on the lift, take off the body lift and run the 31s for awhile.
