This thread is proving to me what i thought of this fourm when i first joined. Most of the members i see here do like train rides and Rock crawling and Stuff. Some People like the folsk in Hawaii and stuff, Build trucks that have ALOT of clearence, and wide tires for grip. Down here in the mud it's so that u got a grip in the mud, and so u arn't dragging ur body with you which will get ya stuck in a heart beat.

In Hawaii, u got super deep sand and u gotta have ur truck body over it, yet ur tires in it. IF your tires are in it and spinnin, u have a chance of getting out, if ur body is in the sand too... ur SOL..

Some things, u don't need articulation, and all that other stuff, u just need raw power, big rubber, and clearence.

I like the trucks. I'd totaly drive one. The tires look a little short, but they do what they are made to do.

those 3rd gens are pretty crazy ive never seen something like that. i think its cool to see different lifts and ideas on 4runners. no need to rag on the guy, theres different styles in different places and im sure those trucks work badass in deep sand. if i lived in hawaii thats probably what id set my goal for. if there is no need for flex or articulation, why build it for that? seems pretty plausable to me that these trucks look the way they do.

For the love of YT...can this thread DIE already!? It's turned more off topic than anything else.
It would be nice to see some actual 'Offroad Tech' threads at the top and not some bling looking sand storming money wasting use of a rig.

wow looks like a lot of time and money has gone into those things. thanks for showing them to us. i guess you just have to feel sorry for the people with 2000 post and have nothing better to do than to sit in front of the computer and criticize everyone elses stuff. here in texas the thing to do is have huge 22-24" rims and 37" tires, and i have never seen them dirty, but they do there job, and that is to make people look.

I completely disagree with 22-24" rims and 37's... Alot of people run just 15x10 on 37-40's.......And I'm from texas as well, (SA).

well i do not want to argue about this, in my home town this the fad so to speak, and all the trucks in san an must be old, because none of the newer model trucks will even run 15"s because the rotors are too big, and must run at least 17"

Seems a little excessive and gay... haha I deff agree with obnoxious.

When my dad was in the marines in hawaii he drove a stock military jeep and never had a problem... those things in the 60's were junk.

But car modification, if it has no purpose, is all about self expression. So whatever you dig, build it...

Whats up guys, I'm new to the site, and im enjoying reading all this good info. I have a few questions myself. Only one pertains to this thread though. I just want to confirm that the 6'' Fabtech lift for the Taco front end will work with a 96 4Runner. If it does I would be wondering how I would get the rear up that high. If somone knows please let me know. Ill be askin some other questions about supercharger issues. Thanks.
