lunchbox locker

I have an85 4runner 32" tires and stock gearing. I want to put a locker in the front axle. It has manual disconects also. Which locker is the best Lockrite, Spartan or Aussie? I don't really wheel that hard but I need to make my rig more capable.

Spartan is supposed to be the stronger of the three, I know it is easier to install over the others.

I put a Aussie in my ford and I hate it. I am pulling it out and putting it on CL.

Have a lockrite in my 84 rock crawler and its never give any problems. Had trouble with Detroit not wantin to disengage when on the road, made it feel as if it was welded insted of after market locker

is there a reason for wanting it in the front instead of the rear? I am curious about this and have heard lots of different things. I am wanting to do this as well one of these days

I could see one reason being a desire to keep the rear to open for DD use if you only use 4wd like never, yet still want to add traction device without going all-out on a selectable locker (and paying someone to properly set up the diff). Most would add to rear since IFS is a tire lifter and having rear traction usually pushes you up over things. Downside is that rear locker engages during DD driving and wears tires faster - at least that's my experience with my Lockrite. Still 110% satisfied with it over open diff though.
