Looking to add something...

My 86 4runner is not too far from stock. I have installed a 2" body lift, sr5 instrument cluster, new 2" exhaust, and 31" BFG ATs. I am waiting for help with a welder and installing rock sliders and a rear aussie locker (I could probably do the locker myself but don't want to eff it up). I have an 85 front axle sitting on jack stands awaiting a rebuild and do the SAS.
I have been saving a bit of money and am ready to add something good to the 4runner - probably something I don't have to weld on. Bolt on would be nice.
Any thoughts on where I should go next? I am wanting to work my way up to rock crawling, although I realize at my current "crawling" speed, it will still be a bit. Any suggestions?
I have been kicking around about a set of front and rear bumpers. I like the front bumper on WabFab but am wondering what the justification is for the $40 premium on the Marlin Crawler w/stinger over the one that WabFab has. Looking at images, it looks like there is a bit more structure on the MC front bumper, but I am not entirely certain of my observation as both sites' representation of their product are not very clear to see (small). Any thoughts? Probably $800 to spend is a good estimate. Should I hold out a couple of months for the SAS and rear suspension?

Go to 33's
Armor (sliders, bumpers, skids)
regear
front locker (since you already have a rear)
Yes, you should DEFINITELY wait for suspension. You will be amazed at where the setup above will take you (basically anywhere you want to take a full bodied truck)

why not put that money toward the SAS. If you do want to get into crawling there will be a world of stuff you will need with the solid axle, especially if you want to drive it on the road. You will need a front locker for the new axle. Probably regear both axles, new tires (at least 35s), Sliders, crawler box will be something you will want as well and with that comes 2 new drive shafts or you could at least get new gears in your current case....the list goes one but that is the stuff you want to start with...

so, per tc's advice on armor, I have a cool bumper with stinger from 4xinnovations coming. Pretty excited. He (Adam) will fashion your bumper to what ever body lift height you want. Very happy with that. I will look at skids too.
