Looking for a 1" lift

I'm in the market to get a new set of Bilsteins off the shelf height. I also want to get rid of the common rear end sag. I have searched and didn't really get a straight answer. What brand of springs would work well with an off the shelf Bilstein?

Thanks for any input.

yea, theres a huge backorder on the performanceproducts springs. i ordered mine on march 7th, and they just arrived the other day.

heres what they look like:

its a good, straightforward, simple setup though.

also, when i was on the phone with PP they actually said this was a huge bulk shipment they were getting, so they may in fact be in stock.

go to performanceproducts.com and try calling / emailing them.

I don't think the rear sag is as common into a few years of 3rd gens as it is on 2nd gens, mine has 105k on the stock suspension and no sag at all but I'm considering the Bils/PP springs since it's a simple upgrade and you actually net a little over 1" and a half to 2" from the combo.

I have read that the PP springs give about a 2"lift. I don't really want to lift the truck that much. Lee would you mind taking pics before and after the install. Also could you measure the lift that you got?

What Downey springs are you talking about?

Thanks for you help guys.

you really do have rear sag? it's not so common in the 3rd gen 4runners.

those performance products are supposed to give only one inch lift. if you realy do have that rear sag, and they do give more than 1", maybe they'll bring you level.

once you're level, if you really want to go up an inch from that, why not just put in a 1" body lift.

I am curious as to what trim line you have.
I have been looking into this on YT and still have unanswered questions that I will ask when the time comes.

When I purchased the truck (Limited), the dealer said that the truck comes with larger brakes for the 16" wheels which is true, and a stiffer suspension than the SR5 which I am unsure about, and I would like to keep the stock stiffness and maybe go stiffer with as much lift as I can have without having to worry about CV angles and premature failure of the CV's.

Have you considered a 1" BL? If you do have rear sag, then this won't solve the problem. If you don't, then it's a good option.

then get the PP springs w/ HD bilsteins. I ran them on my 99 limited for a year and loved them. My wife's SR5 has that setup and it is great. Approx 1.5" of lift/ still looks stock, but beefy--like if Toyota had done it. The ride is great. The ONLY drwaback is the price, but if all you want is a mild lift, then this is THE ticket. NO ?? After looking at my truck somemore as well as other trucks. I guess what I was seeing is that the truck doesn't appear to sit level. I think it may have something to do with the body lines. Anyway's I still think I would like to lift the truck a little bit just for fun. I will look into the PP springs and Bilstiens. Also if I just wanted to get the Bilstiens are the stock springs going to be fine with the increased valving?

I never suggest body lifts. They WILL eventually go right through the floor board; and cause more possible roll overs.

good question filthy. I've dealt with fords/chevys/jeep and have seen this happen cause my friends and I beat the snot out of them. we have never had any yotas. our loss cause they are very worthy. i'm glad to have entered the yota world. anyway my experience with body lifts and knowing what there notorious for, I don't recommend body lifts. just my opinion.

hes right, by the way, they give closer to a 2" lift... they settle to 1" later on.
