I’ve been searching for the past couple weeks, I’ve read many threads, but I haven’t find a straight answer of what I need, to be able to fit 33” tires without getting an expensive off-road set up.

I have a 00 SR5 2WD, thanks to the site I had found lots of good info. I removed the intake silencer, airbox elbow, and cut a 4” round hole to maybe do the Deckplate mod. I also got an Amsoil air filter. I have to say this was a BIG performance improvement.

Now, I would like to ask to help me lift it. I want to fit 33” in 16x8 wheels; I’m not going to off-road, so I don’t need to go all out, I’m just looking for an economic way to be able to fit 33” with no rubbing.

I've been looking in the For Sale forum, but I'm not sure what I need. If you have what I need for sell, let me know, you may have a buyer.

And on the main Yototech info page. Anything from coil spring spacers front and rear to new springs or anything in between. Most folks add a 1" body lift to about a 2"-3" suspension lift to fit 33s.

 

you can get away with 3"....but like roger said most people add a 1" BL to make it work

if you are really not interested in trail use just run a Cornfed 2.5 or 3" spacer lift (http://www.cornfedsuspension.com/) then combine it with one of Roger's 1" BLs

add tires and youre done!


edit: watch out for cornfeds shipping -it can be notoriously slow

Cool, that's what I was thinking, only a body lift, maybe a 2.5 all the way around.

I'm not in a hurry; I want to learn more about it. I want to make sure I do it right in the first try.

i spoked to people at cornfed. That truck in that picture is on 2.5" spacer lift and 3" body lift custom fabricated to fit because no one will bother to make a 3" body lift..

so 5.5" of lift. It's running on 33x12.50/15 on a 15x10" wheel.

Cornfed makes good stuff, but you might want to also consider getting a Revtek kit and then seeing if the tires you want to run will fit with just that kit. If not, you can always add the body lift. You can run 285/75R16 tires on your stock rims which turns out to be close to a 33" tall tire and 11" width. Look here:

I have a question. Is this a PreRunner 2WD, or is it a real 2WD that sits a lot lower than the 4WD versions? If it is a PreRunner then the 1.5" ball joint spacers and some 1.5" maybe 2" shackles or blocks will do the rear end. If it is one that sits a lot lower, then it is going to take a lot of work to get it to run 33's. I haven't researched that, but you are probably looking at some big bucks, or a lot of home made stuff.

Thats just what I think. I really interested to know what kind of 2WD it is though.

 

The PreRunners have the same suspension and ride height as the 4WD trucks.

 

That sucks, what kind of advertising is that, I thought that the 3” spacers will make it look like the picture…

Well, I want to lift it and if I have to expend some $$$, I'll do it. When I mention "an economic way to" lift it, I mean that, I'm not going to off road so I don't want to buy an expensive off road lift if I'm not going to use it.

A Prerunner is a Tacoma, I assume you have a 4Runner. Correct? Or not? Going by your description of wanting to be a little higher, your best solution might be a suspension lift AND a body lift. Good luck, let us know what you decide to do and don't forget the PICS!!!!

Most likely, I'm getting the 1" BL, still trying to decide if I should get the OME front and rear Shocks and Coils(N91S,881,N86,891) or just get the Cornfed 2.5" spacers.

 

What kind of modifications do I have to do if I choose to go with a 2" body lift?
