Hardcore section

We have two off road forums here.
The "Off-Road and 4x4", and the "Hardcore" one.
A lot of posts that could go into the first one end up getting posted in the SUV forum, and end up getting moved.

We would like the memberships opinion on whether to leave the two off roading forums as is, or to eliminate the Hardcore one and empty it's contents into the Off-Road and 4x4 one.

If this would simplify in which section to post, please let us know either way.
This poll will time out in 14 days, so please get your vote in now.
Thank you, the Staff & I appreciate your feedback.

Corey,
I think combining the two is a good idea. Most of the hard core stuff is aimed at enhancing off roading ability. Maybe you could start a new forum called"Bling, Bling" Seems like a bunch of the stuff currently being posted in the generic forum would be a good fit, and it would be like the polar opposite of the hard core/off road forum. [sarcasm on] I'm sure Cebby would love to moderate it. [sarcasm off]

Now that the swaps are done for the most part, it seems that we have two moderately active forums when a consolidation could have one more active forum.

Getting a locker would be an "Off-road" worth mod, but installing it yourself would be "Hardcore"?

I would rather have a barrel full of liquor than a thimble of Rum and a thimble of Vodka.

It would be better to just combine them. It just takes extra time to look at both forums.

Seems to be too much of a grey area separating the two. Combine them...once it gets a LOT more action (as much as 4Runner general forum), create another one with a snazzy tittle like "SAS, Crawlers, Axle Rebuilds - The Harcore stuff" - and link it to PBB

J/K about the PBB part.

Maybe we could bring Clayton in to mod the bling bling section.

I say combine them.
Seems like the majority of posts tend to span both catagories anyway.
With the exception of some fab questions, but it still "counts" as off road type mods (usually).
I think MNBOY may have a good idea on the On Road / "dress up" (for lack of a better title) idea for those who like clear corners, HID lights, etc.
Just a thought.

Combine them Corey,
To one, just going off-road is hardcore.
To another unless you are building a tube buggy it is not.
It is just simpler to have the one area that is broad enough to interest all.

I think that people might be on to something with the BLING BLING part. There are a lot of people who are looking to make purely aesthetic mods and a forum for such would likely be a biggegr hit than the Off-Road/Hardcore distinction.

Keeping them separate helps to keep those who want hardcore stuff easy to sort, keep on top of, etc.

I find in the offroad section the same questions are being asked over and over and over again.

In the hardcore section I can get responses from people who an in the same boat that I am.

I by no means want to sound or seems like any kind of an off-road snob as I am not. However, if post something about my dana 60 conversion that needs technical help etc, it get's buried very quickly in the standard offroad section. In the harcore section, since there's less activity, I know that the people I want to see the post and those that respond will be able to find it and their responses will be meaningful.

I can see a lot of people wanted to look at the questions I have on the dana 60 conversion, but they'd never respond. As a result it just goes farther and farther down the list till someone like Crash logs in and never sees the question as it's 6 pages back.

I like the hardcore section, but perhaps some tighter lines need to be drawn.

I say combine hardcore and reg. offroad categories and make a new site for the bling-bling crowd. Call it thefastandthefutile.com
